About this role.

Sample interview questions
I would protect recurring time for one-to-ones, coaching, planning, and cross-functional alignment, while reserving focused technical time for architecture reviews, high-leverage implementation work, and unblocking difficult problems. I would avoid becoming the default owner for feature delivery, instead using coding time to improve team velocity and technical quality.
I would maintain a transparent prioritization process that separates interrupts from planned work, defines service expectations for urgent requests, and allocates explicit capacity to strategic investments. Regular roadmap reviews with product and design would make tradeoffs visible and allow the team to protect critical platform milestones.
I would start with customer and operational requirements, then facilitate lightweight design reviews that document alternatives, constraints, ownership, and expected outcomes. I would favor incremental, observable changes with clear API and data-model boundaries, while ensuring the team addresses performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
I would begin with practical, low-risk use cases such as test generation, code explanation, documentation drafts, and developer workflow automation. I would establish guidance on approved tools, data handling, human review, testing, and security, then measure whether the practices improve cycle time and quality before scaling them.
I would first learn the team's existing strengths, delivery patterns, and pain points through one-to-ones and observation. I would introduce changes only where they solve a clear problem, set measurable expectations, and empower senior engineers to lead improvements while providing consistent feedback, recognition, and growth opportunities.
