Sample interview questions
How would you handle a customer redline that changes payment terms and may affect revenue recognition?

I would compare the proposed language against approved commercial policy and identify the financial and operational impact. I would then partner with Finance and Legal to determine acceptable alternatives, document the required approvals, and communicate a clear recommendation to the account team.

Describe your process for managing a complex SaaS deal from quote creation through execution.

I start by confirming product configuration, pricing, term, billing, and required approvals. I prepare or review the quote and Order Form, track redlines and decisions in a central workflow, validate Salesforce fields before close, and ensure final documents and commercial terms are accurately recorded.

How do you maintain accuracy when managing multiple urgent transactions?

I use a prioritized queue based on close date, risk, deal value, and dependencies, supported by standardized checklists for pricing, legal terms, approvals, and CRM fields. I communicate early when information is missing or a deadline is at risk, which prevents avoidable rework.

What would you do if a salesperson requests an exception to standard pricing or contract terms?

I would first understand the customer objective and the strategic rationale for the exception. Then I would evaluate it against policy, identify comparable approved alternatives where possible, obtain the right approvals, and clearly document the final decision and rationale.

How would you identify and implement a deal-desk process improvement?

I would analyze recurring bottlenecks, error patterns, turnaround time, and stakeholder feedback to define the problem with data. After designing a scalable solution such as a playbook, approval workflow, Salesforce enhancement, or CPQ automation, I would pilot it, measure results, and refine it before broader rollout.
