Sample interview questions
How do you connect paid digital campaign performance to pipeline and revenue rather than only clicks or impressions?

I establish tracking and attribution requirements before launch, align campaign naming and audience definitions with CRM data, and monitor progression from engagement through qualified opportunities and pipeline. I then compare channel and account-tier investment against downstream conversion and revenue contribution to guide optimization.

Describe an experiment you would run to improve a paid campaign aimed at priority ABM accounts.

I would begin with a clear hypothesis, such as whether role-specific creative improves engagement and opportunity creation within a high-value account tier. I would control the audience and budget where possible, test the creative against a baseline, define success metrics across engagement and pipeline stages, and use the findings to scale or revise the approach.

How would you allocate budget across SEM, display, and paid social for different account tiers?

I would use account value, buying-stage signals, historical conversion rates, channel intent, and marginal return to set initial allocations. Higher-tier accounts would receive more tailored targeting and coordinated channel coverage, while lower tiers would be managed with scalable tactics and clear efficiency thresholds.

What is your approach to managing an external digital agency?

I set shared objectives, documented audience and measurement standards, budget guardrails, testing priorities, and a regular performance-review cadence. I use the agency for channel expertise and execution while retaining ownership of business outcomes, stakeholder alignment, and decisions on optimization priorities.

How do you respond when a campaign has strong engagement but weak pipeline results?

I would inspect audience quality, message-to-offer alignment, landing-page experience, sales follow-up, attribution setup, and conversion drop-off points. Based on the diagnosis, I would adjust targeting or qualification criteria, test more buyer-relevant creative and offers, and shift spend toward segments showing stronger downstream performance.
