Sample interview questions
Describe a time you turned an ambiguous business problem into a prioritized product roadmap.

I began by defining the business objective and the unresolved customer problem, then combined qualitative research, product data, and stakeholder input to identify the highest-value opportunities. I documented assumptions, tradeoffs, and success metrics, aligned the team around a sequenced roadmap, and revisited priorities as new evidence emerged.

How do you make product decisions when stakeholders disagree on priorities?

I make the decision criteria explicit, typically customer impact, strategic fit, expected value, effort, risk, and urgency. I ensure opposing views and evidence are documented, facilitate a focused discussion, then make or escalate a clear decision while explaining the rationale and next review point.

How would you use AI to improve product discovery for a payments or payouts platform?

I would use AI-assisted workflows to synthesize support tickets, sales calls, interview notes, and behavioral data into recurring themes and hypotheses. I would validate those hypotheses with targeted research and quantitative analysis, using AI as an accelerator rather than a substitute for customer and domain judgment.

How do you partner with engineering and design from concept through launch?

I align the team on the customer problem, desired outcome, constraints, and measurable success criteria before solutioning. During delivery, I keep scope tied to the intended outcome, resolve tradeoffs quickly, and ensure design quality, technical feasibility, and launch readiness remain visible in written plans.

What metrics would you use to evaluate a newly launched product capability?

I would select a primary outcome metric tied to the problem, such as successful payout completion, activation, or retention, and pair it with adoption, funnel, quality, and support metrics. I would establish a baseline before launch, segment results by relevant customer cohorts, and use findings to decide whether to iterate, expand, or reconsider the feature.

About the role

We’re hiring multiple Senior Product Managers across teams as we continue to scale.

We run small, cross-functional squads that own a real slice of the business, from prepaid cards to core platform to special projects. We’ll match you to the squad that fits your interests and where you’ll have the most impact.

Today, the product management org is seven PMs, led by a co-founder who serves as Head of Product.

What you’ll do

  • Own your team’s roadmap. Work with stakeholders to figure out what to build and when. When the path isn’t obvious, your job is to create clarity.

  • Do the research. User interviews, market analysis, competitive teardowns, data digs. Whatever it takes to back up your thinking.

  • Move quickly using AI. Use AI agents to dig through customer tickets, sales calls, usage data, and competitor research. Use prototypes to illustrate approaches.

  • Partner with design and engineering through the build. Designers refine the UX, engineers estimate and build, you unblock and keep scope honest.

  • Work async. Most product work here happens in writing. If you’re used to running product through meetings, this will feel different.

  • Drive decisions without bulldozing. People won’t always agree on priorities. It’s your job to land decisions while keeping people bought in.

  • Close the loop. After we ship, help the team understand the impact.

What you’ll bring

  • 6+ years building and shipping web applications as a designer, engineer, or product manager at tech companies.

  • 2+ years as a PM at a growth-stage startup.

  • Strong product intuition. You can look at a product problem and see the right solution.

  • Strong design judgment and technical fluency. You hold your own with designers and engineers.

  • A track record of turning long-term strategy and a backlog of ideas into a prioritized, shovel-ready roadmap.

  • Strong written and verbal communication. We’re documentation-first, so you’ll spend a lot of time writing.

  • Comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, and pushing work forward without being told to.

  • Genuine empathy for users and teammates. You want to understand their problems.

What’s cool about the role

  • Competitive pay and equity. Base salary for this role: $225,000 to $300,000

  • Real benefits. 100% covered health (US), unlimited PTO, 12-16 weeks paid parental leave.

  • Fully remote. Work from anywhere in the Americas.

  • Great culture. Read more about how we work in our public handbook.
