About this role.

AI Summary

Tremendous is seeking a Senior Product Manager to establish and lead a new product-growth function focused on discovery, signup, onboarding, and first reward sent. The role owns the self-serve funnel, conversion roadmap, growth experimentation systems, incentives, and product support for acquisition channels such as referrals, programmatic SEO, and AI-search referrals. This is a highly autonomous, technical product role requiring strong judgment where conventional A/B testing may be impractical because of limited traffic and the absence of a free-tier model. The PM will work asynchronously with engineering, Marketing, and RevOps while helping define and staff the future Growth squad. Strong written communication, hands-on prototyping, funnel instrumentation, and prior acquisition or activation experience are central to success.

Sample interview questions
How would you diagnose and improve a signup-to-first-reward funnel when traffic is too low for reliable A/B tests?

I would combine quantitative funnel instrumentation with qualitative evidence such as session replays, support conversations, user interviews, and usability tests. I would identify high-friction steps, form hypotheses based on observed behavior and established UX principles, then prioritize reversible, high-confidence improvements while monitoring directional changes in activation and completion rates.

Describe how you would create a growth roadmap for a team that does not yet exist.

I would begin by defining the funnel, baseline metrics, key customer segments, and the largest known constraints from acquisition through first reward sent. I would create a focused set of bets across conversion, activation, acquisition channels, and incentives, sequence them by expected impact and implementation effort, and use the roadmap to clarify the skill mix needed for the future squad.

What metrics would you use to measure success in this role?

My primary metric would be the rate and volume of qualified signups that send a first reward, segmented by self-serve and sales-assisted paths. Supporting metrics would include landing-page conversion, signup completion, time to first reward, first-order completion, activation by acquisition channel, incentive cost per activated customer, and downstream retention or expansion signals.

How would you collaborate with Marketing while preserving clear ownership of growth outcomes?

I would establish shared objectives and a common operating cadence for campaigns, with Marketing owning brand, content, and media spend while Product owns conversion flows, onboarding, product instrumentation, and experiment implementation. Joint briefs, written decision records, and shared reporting would ensure campaigns are evaluated end to end rather than as isolated channel activities.

Give an example of when you would avoid building a full product feature and instead use a rapid prototype or landing page.

I would use a prototype when the main uncertainty is whether a customer problem or value proposition resonates, rather than whether the final implementation is technically feasible. For example, before investing in a new referral workflow, I would test the messaging, eligibility logic, and demand through a lightweight landing page and manual operational process, then invest in automation only after seeing meaningful customer intent or conversion.

Tremendous is profitable and growing without outside investors. We’re a fully remote, high-documentation, low-meeting culture, which means more time for what matters in both your professional and personal life. The team agrees– our employee NPS is in the high 80s.

About the role

You’ll be the product owner for how companies discover Tremendous, sign up, and send their first reward.

Most companies research us before they ever meet a salesperson. They find us through a search, an ad, or a reward somebody sent them. A fair number sign up on their own, either because they’re too small for a sales rep or because they just prefer it. You’ll own product growth overall, but self-serve clients are your primary focus and scorecard. At the top of the funnel we can’t tell who’s a solo marketer and who’s a future enterprise buyer, so you’ll build for both.

The Growth team doesn’t exist yet, so you’ll arrive, borrow engineers from another squad to get moving, and write the roadmap we hire against. You’ll have real influence over what this team becomes and who’s on it.

One thing to know up front: the standard product-led growth playbook doesn’t apply here. We have no free tier, no trial, and no paywall, so the usual levers don’t exist. We also don’t have the traffic for most A/B tests to reach significance. You’ll need to look at a flow and know what’s wrong with it rather than wait for a test to tell you.

The product management team today is 7 PMs, led by a co-founder who serves as Head of Product. You’ll also work with Marketing on campaigns and with RevOps on the handoffs between self-serve and sales.

What you’ll do

  • Own first touch to first reward sent. Signup, onboarding, and the first order are yours outright. On the site and landing pages, you own conversion and experiments; Marketing owns brand, content, and spend.

  • Develop the growth roadmap, then help staff the squad that runs it (both through internal transfers and outside hires).

  • Build the systems that let us test. Standing up a landing page, changing it, and killing it should take a day, without waiting on an engineering sprint.

  • Run campaigns with Marketing. We’ll pull a growth marketer into your team’s cadence so a campaign ships end to end: audience, copy, landing page, emails, ads.

  • Give promising acquisition channels product and engineering muscle: referrals, programmatic SEO, AI-search and chatbot referrals, interactive tools, reward recipients becoming senders.

  • Turn incentives into a system. Today we hand out test funds and fee waivers case by case. You decide what we offer, to whom, and what it’s worth.

  • Prototype with AI in hours, and put it in front of real companies the same week.

  • Work async. Most product work here happens in writing. If you’re used to running product through meetings, this will feel different.

  • Report to Prateek Mehta (Group PM).

What you’ll bring

  • 6+ years shipping web products as a growth PM, founder, or engineer, with real time on acquisition, conversion, or activation. A founder or founding-engineer past is a strong plus.

  • Enough technical depth to ship without a full team. You can instrument a funnel, read the data, and build a landing page when that’s the fastest path.

  • Taste in conversion flows. You can look at a signup page and say what’s wrong with it, without a test telling you.

  • Judgment about when to test. You can tell whether traffic will resolve a question, and you’re comfortable deciding from other evidence when it won’t.

  • Healthy skepticism of growth playbooks. You know which parts assume a free tier, and which parts transfer.

  • Outstanding written communication. We’re a documentation-first culture.

What’s cool about the role

  • Blank slate. The team doesn’t exist yet. You’ll write the roadmap and we’ll build the team around it. And since we’re profitable, growth here is pure upside.

  • Competitive pay and equity. Base salary for this role: $240,000 to $315,000.

  • Real benefits. 100% covered health (US), unlimited PTO, 12-16 weeks paid parental leave.

  • Fully remote. Work from anywhere in the Americas.

  • Great culture. Read more about how we work in our public handbook.
