Sample interview questions
I would start with clear, practical brand guardrails that define the visual system, voice, audience principles, and decision criteria. I would establish lightweight review processes for high-visibility work, equip internal teams and agencies with reusable templates and examples, and regularly audit key touchpoints. Consistency should not mean rigidity, so I would also define where teams can experiment while preserving the core brand.
I would begin by defining the target audience, business objective, desired attendee behavior, and success metrics before selecting the format or venue. From there, I would create an integrated brief covering creative concept, programming, partner opportunities, budget, production, promotion, lead capture, and follow-up. After the event, I would assess attendance quality, engagement, pipeline or retention impact where applicable, attendee feedback, content performance, and lessons for the next activation.
I set a clear brief, articulate the strategic problem and non-negotiable brand principles, and align on decision-makers, milestones, and feedback expectations at the outset. I give teams room to develop strong points of view, then provide consolidated, actionable feedback tied to audience and business goals rather than personal preference. Regular check-ins, shared performance metrics, and candid retrospectives help maintain quality and improve the partnership over time.
For brand health, I would combine awareness, consideration, message association, share of voice, direct traffic, branded search, and qualitative audience perception. For events, I would measure registrations, attendance, audience fit, engagement, satisfaction, content reach, partner value, influenced pipeline or customer outcomes, and cost efficiency. The exact mix would depend on whether the program is designed for awareness, acquisition, retention, community, or partnerships.
I would frame the initiative around a shared business outcome, clarify each team's role and constraints, and use a concise brief to make decisions visible. I would invite input early from key partners such as content, growth, product, finance, and operations, then document tradeoffs and ownership so execution remains efficient. When priorities conflict, I would return to the agreed audience need, objectives, budget, and success measures to build alignment.

What is the role?
We’re looking for a Brand & Events Manager to own how Teachable looks, feels, and shows up in the world, on screen and in the room. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for our brand identity and guardrails, our events program, our creative output, and the corporate partnerships that grow Teachable’s reach and credibility.
You’ll be the guardian of the brand, making sure everything we put out is cohesive, high-quality, and unmistakably Teachable, and you’ll own the moments where creators experience the brand in person. You’ll partner closely with our Content Strategy Lead, who owns content and social, so brand and content move as one system.
This role reports to the Head of Marketing and works closely with Content, Customer Marketing, Partnerships, Product, and Growth. You’ll lead a small team of designers and an events coordinator, and own our external creative agency relationships.
We’re a hybrid team and encourage NYC-based team members to work from our office 1 to 2 days per week.
In this role, you will:
- Own and protect the Teachable brand, our voice, visual identity, and guardrails, ensuring a consistent through-line across every channel, campaign, and experience
- Own our events program end to end, creator gatherings, field activations, virtual summits, and content shoots, setting strategy and creative direction while your events coordinator drives logistics and on-the-ground execution
- Set and hold the creative bar across design, leading your design team and external creative partners to keep output on-brand and high-quality
- Build and manage corporate partnerships that extend the brand’s reach and credibility
- Partner with our Content Strategy Lead to keep brand and content aligned, and with Growth on brand and full-funnel campaigns
- Work cross-functionally with Customer Marketing, Partnerships, Product, and Finance to keep brand and events tied to business goals and measurable against them
- Define and track success metrics across brand health and event impact, using data to sharpen the work over time
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years in brand, creative, integrated marketing, or events, including experience managing people and vendors
- A strong portfolio with range: brand building, brand or full-funnel campaigns, and events that feel like the brand
- Proven experience running live events or activations end to end, including budgets and vendors, without dropping the creative bar
- Experience owning brand guardrails and leading designers or external creative partners
- A collaborative approach and the ability to influence cross-functionally
- Excellent creative judgment and communication skills
- Passion for helping creators, entrepreneurs, and small business owners grow their impact
Nice to have:
- Experience working in SaaS or the creator economy
- Corporate or brand partnership experience
- Experience representing a brand across social, webinars, and community-facing events
