Athena is hiring a full-time, fee-for-service Psychotherapist to deliver evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy through telehealth and in-person services. I begin by establishing emotional and physical safety, explaining choices clearly, and collaborating with the client on goals and pacing. I remain attentive to triggers, strengths, culture, and the impact of trauma while using evidence-based interventions appropriate to the client’s needs.
I document sessions as close to the encounter as possible, use structured EHR templates, and ensure notes connect presenting needs, interventions, client response, progress, and the treatment plan. I routinely review documentation requirements and protect confidentiality in line with agency and state standards.
I would complete an immediate risk assessment, confirm the client’s location and available supports, and follow the organization’s crisis protocol. Depending on risk level, I would create a safety plan, involve emergency contacts or mobile crisis resources with appropriate consent or duty-of-care considerations, and document all actions thoroughly.
I approach each client with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect for their lived experience. I work to reduce barriers by being transparent, collaborative, flexible when possible, and attentive to practical concerns that may affect treatment participation.
I would use a reliable scheduling and follow-up system, protect time for documentation, and monitor my caseload capacity regularly. My priority would remain clinically appropriate care, ethical boundaries, and consistent treatment planning rather than simply maximizing session volume.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts evidence-based therapeutic sessions for children, families, and individuals in person or via telehealth.
- Develops and implements goal-oriented treatment plans.
- Completes documentation by a given deadline and in compliance with program and state regulations.
- Ensures all clinical notes and client information are updated and accurate within the current EHR system.
- Provide conflict resolution and crisis intervention when needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited school in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Creative Arts Therapy, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- LMSW, LMHC, LCAT or LMFT is a plus but not required.
- MUST BE Limited Permit Eligible. No expired LPs.
- Must be passionate about working with underserved communities and possess a high level of engagement, entrepreneurial, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in an OMH (Article 31/28) environment is strongly desired.
Compensation
We are a fee-for-service modeled clinic where therapists are paid per session completed.
Individual sessions are 45 minutes long.
Compensation is based on credentials and experience.

Working Conditions:
The primary work location varies. This is a professional work environment where a computer, desk, chair, and office supplies will be provided in either office.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role above. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak on the phone or through virtual telehealth sessions conducted on a computer throughout the day, stand and sit for an extended period, and be able to write and answer emails in addition to carrying objects no greater than 20 pounds, when needed.
