Sample interview questions
How would you develop a communications strategy for a new Hers healthcare category launch?

I would begin by aligning on the product evidence, target audience, clinical and regulatory guardrails, business goals, and likely reputational risks. I would then define a differentiated narrative, audience-specific message architecture, launch moments, channel plan, spokesperson strategy, and measurable awareness, trust, and adoption metrics.

Describe how you translate clinical or regulatory complexity into consumer-facing messaging.

I partner early with clinical and regulatory experts to identify the substantiated claims, necessary qualifications, and areas that require plain-language explanation. I turn those inputs into simple benefit-led messages, validate them for accuracy and comprehension, and maintain an approval process that protects clarity without overstating outcomes.

How do you measure the impact of product communications beyond media impressions?

I use impressions and share of voice as directional indicators, but tie communications to stronger outcomes such as message pull-through, sentiment, trust measures, referral traffic, search behavior, qualified engagement, and adoption trends. I establish a baseline before launch and use results to optimize stories, audiences, and channels.

Tell us about your approach to managing a high-scrutiny product issue.

I quickly establish the facts, decision owners, regulatory constraints, stakeholder map, and likely scenarios. I develop a clear response framework, align internal teams on a single source of truth, prepare reactive materials, and monitor coverage and feedback so the response remains timely, accurate, and empathetic.

How do you influence cross-functional partners when communications considerations need to shape product decisions?

I involve communications early and frame recommendations around customer understanding, business impact, risk, and launch readiness rather than communications preferences alone. Bringing audience insight, evidence, and practical options helps product, clinical, and growth leaders make decisions while retaining shared ownership of the outcome.
