Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will drive new programmatic advertising revenue directly from in-house marketing teams and brands within targeted vertical markets. While a background in commerce or retail media is highly advantageous, we strongly welcome top-performing hunters from other industries who possess a proven track record of opening doors and an established network of brand marketers.
StackAdapt is a remote-first company. We will be prioritizing candidates located in Sydney & Melbourne for this role, with potential for occasional travel to meet with clients.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Driving aggressive outbound sales activity—including high-volume cold outreach, strategic multi-touch campaigns, and persistent lead follow-ups—to secure initial meetings with decision-makers at target brands.
- Identifying, pitching, and closing new platform sales deals with in-house marketing teams, focusing relentlessly on net-new logo acquisition in competitive vertical markets.
- Building and managing a high-velocity, robust sales pipeline, leveraging CRM tools to exceed outbound activity benchmarks and coverage ratios.
- Collaborating closely with management, product, and solutions teams to articulate client needs, co-create industry-leading vertical offerings, and get products specified and built that meet brand-direct requirements.
- Translating field insights into product strategy and innovation, serving as a customer advocate within the company.
- Creating compelling, value-based pitch decks and associated research to effectively close new business with executive-level prospects.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of market trends, competitive threats, and the evolving needs of brand-direct clients in digital media.
- Working closely with dedicated StackAdapt Account Managers post-onboarding to ensure a warm hand-off and continued client success and potential expansion opportunities.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Proven track record as an exceptional hunter in digital advertising, media, or tech sales, with demonstrated mastery of cold calling, outbound lead generation, and meeting acquisition.
- Strong preference for experience selling into commerce, retail, or DTC brands; however, candidates with strong sales capability from other verticals who hold an established network of brand marketing executives are strongly encouraged to apply.
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment focused on building new product offerings in the market.
- Experience in developing and implementing go-to-market plans, including defining Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) and segmentation frameworks.
- Ability to grasp and communicate complex technical concepts and platform-based knowledge to diverse audiences, including marketing executives.
- Proficiency in utilizing CRM tools (Salesforce) to manage pipelines, forecast sales, and drive operational rigor.
- Experience building strong client relationships and driving consistent top-line revenue growth through new logo acquisition.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with clients within their region as needed.
- Tenacity and resilience required to navigate complex org charts, overcome objections, and break ground with hard-to-reach prospects.
- Strong practical proficiency with AI tools, with demonstrated experience using AI to improve sales productivity, account planning, prospecting, pipeline management and strategic decision-making.
- Embedding practical AI workflows that improve seller productivity, preparation and overall sales execution.

Sample interview questions
I start by defining a focused ICP and account segmentation model, then map buying committees and develop tailored outreach hypotheses. I combine calls, email, LinkedIn, relevant content, and referral paths in structured cadences, measuring conversion by stage and refining messaging weekly.
I would begin with the executive's commercial objectives, such as efficient reach, customer acquisition, or measurable brand impact. I would then connect platform capabilities to those outcomes using a concise value narrative, proof points, relevant vertical examples, and a clear measurement plan rather than leading with technical features alone.
I would explain how I researched the organization, identified adjacent stakeholders and business triggers, and used a persistent but relevant multi-channel approach. By bringing a specific insight and a credible reason for the executive to engage, I created a path to a discovery meeting and advanced the opportunity.
I apply clear stage-exit criteria, document next steps and stakeholder commitments in CRM, and inspect deal risks regularly. I separate committed opportunities from early-stage upside, use activity and conversion data to determine required pipeline coverage, and escalate resource needs early.
I use approved AI workflows to summarize account research, draft and personalize outreach, identify potential stakeholders, prepare meeting briefs, and analyze pipeline patterns. I validate all outputs against reliable sources, protect confidential information, and ensure that AI accelerates judgment rather than replacing it.
