Sample interview questions
How have you built demand for an unbudgeted enterprise security solution within a public-sector account?

I start by identifying a material operational, security, or compliance gap and quantify the impact of maintaining the status quo. I then build a multithreaded business case with technical champions, procurement stakeholders, and executive sponsors, connecting the solution to strategic priorities and a practical funding path.

Describe how you use MEDDIC in a complex sales process.

I use MEDDIC to validate that an opportunity has measurable value, an identified economic buyer, clear decision criteria and process, compelling pain, an internal champion, and a known competitive position. I review these elements regularly with my account team so that forecast status reflects evidence rather than optimism.

What is your approach to selling through channel partners while retaining ownership of the customer outcome?

I align early on account strategy, roles, value proposition, and mutual success measures with the partner. I keep direct relationships with key customer stakeholders, provide the partner with clear enablement and deal support, and maintain a shared cadence to address risks before they affect momentum.

How would you engage both technical evaluators and CISO or CIO buyers for Cribl?

With technical teams, I would focus on architecture, telemetry control, integration, operational workflows, and proof of value. With executive buyers, I would translate those capabilities into outcomes such as improved security visibility, lower operational friction, risk reduction, and flexibility to support future AI initiatives.

Tell us how you maintain forecast accuracy in a fast-moving territory.

I base forecasts on verified customer actions, decision dates, stakeholder commitment, procurement status, and MEDDIC completeness rather than seller activity alone. I use regular deal inspections to identify gaps early, create recovery plans, and communicate risks transparently to leadership.
