The role, at a glance.
Huntress is hiring a Director of Product Management to lead vision, strategy, discovery, delivery, and go-to-market execution for Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) and Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM) offerings. The player-coach leader will manage two initial direct reports while partnering closely with engineering, design, security, sales, marketing, support, executives, customers, and industry analysts. The role requires deep product leadership experience in cloud security, identity security, or adjacent cybersecurity products, along with the ability to translate technical capabilities into customer and business value. Success depends on establishing a competitive roadmap, validating new product opportunities, launching capabilities, and measuring outcomes such as conversion, churn, and recurring revenue. This is a US-remote, full-time leadership position with base pay, bonus, and equity.

Sample interview questions
I would begin with customer and partner research across SMB, mid-market, MSP, and MSSP segments to validate the highest-impact identity risks and workflow gaps. I would combine those findings with threat intelligence, competitive analysis, business goals, and platform constraints to define target personas, differentiated value propositions, strategic bets, and measurable outcomes. I would then translate the strategy into an outcome-based roadmap with explicit assumptions, milestones, and success metrics.
I first align with technical experts on the threat, architecture, constraints, and intended detection or prevention outcome. I then frame the problem in customer terms, define user journeys and measurable value, and create clear requirements, epics, and stories that preserve the technical intent. Throughout delivery, I use prototypes, customer validation, and engineering feedback to refine scope without losing the original business objective.
I would use a transparent prioritization framework that weighs strategic alignment, customer impact, security urgency, market differentiation, revenue potential, effort, and risk. I would distinguish urgent commitments from broadly validated product opportunities and communicate trade-offs through a regularly maintained roadmap. The goal is not to satisfy every request, but to make consistent, evidence-based decisions that advance the product strategy.
I would track adoption and activation, feature engagement, time to value, detection efficacy, alert quality, remediation outcomes, retention, expansion, conversion, churn, and recurring revenue contribution. I would also monitor qualitative customer feedback and operational measures such as support volume and implementation friction. Metrics would be segmented by customer type and channel to identify where the capability creates the most value.
I set a clear strategic direction, define decision rights and expectations, and give product managers ownership of meaningful problem spaces. I coach through regular one-on-ones, roadmap reviews, customer-insight discussions, and feedback on communication and decision-making. At the same time, I remain directly involved in the most ambiguous or high-impact work, modeling rigorous discovery, stakeholder alignment, and accountable execution.

What We Do:
Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.
Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That’s why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers’ protection.
Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 14M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other.
What You’ll Do:
We are looking for an experienced product management leader to join our growing team. As a Director of Product Management at Huntress, you will be a “player-coach” responsible for discovering, developing, launching, and driving the success of our ITDR and ISPM products, and for providing overall leadership for those offerings, including two initial direct reports. These products will be a part of the Huntress Security Platform, serving SMB and mid-sized clients through MSP/MSSP and Reseller channels.
This is a rare opportunity to scale something new in a well-established, well-funded, and dynamic company with a great culture. You will own the vision, goals, and (in partnership with other functions) execution of a SaaS offering (like other Huntress products) that keeps SMB and mid-market customers safe and secure online with cutting-edge capabilities currently only found in the largest enterprises. You will work very closely with the company founders, engineering leaders, support, sales, and marketing teams, as well as other Product Managers.
To be successful in this position, you must possess a combination of strong business acumen and technical skills to bridge customer business requirements with trends in the threat landscape. You must be comfortable frequently interacting with customers, prospects, and industry analysts, and be able to articulate our value proposition. You also must have a proven track record of working closely with engineering teams and being able to clearly articulate business goals in technical terms.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the product team and relevant stakeholders to set the ITDR and ISPM product vision and strategy, and clearly articulate the business value so that everyone understands where we are headed
- Work directly with a small team to discover, prototype, validate, and launch a substantial new capability (potentially an add-on product) that will enhance our existing offering
- Provide management, coaching, and leadership to product management staff working on ITDR and ISPM, and contribute to organizational improvement initiatives as part of the PM leadership team
- Analyze market trends and perform competitor analysis and research in order to drive strategy, as well as pricing and the product roadmap
- Demonstrate an ability to decipher and articulate potentially ambiguous client needs and mold them into successful, innovative solutions that surprise and delight the customer
- Work with designers, engineers, and architects to create detailed business requirements, epics, and user stories that will be used to shape product specifications and architecture
- Prioritize features by assessing their alignment with the broader product strategy and initiatives, as well as unmet market needs
- Participate as a key contributor in all phases of product development, from discovery to launch
- Drive and manage product roadmap and go-to-market strategy by working closely with marketing, sales, and executive leadership teams
- Collaborate with marketing and other key stakeholders to drive and execute product launches to market
- Derive feedback and insights from customers through face-to-face interaction and collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle
- Serve as the intermediary between engineering and senior leadership and other non-technical stakeholders, with the ability to break down and translate highly technical information into layman’s terms and vice versa
- Drive high-level strategic initiatives and execution while possessing a willingness to dig into the weeds when necessary
- Work with design and engineering teams to produce mockups, wireframes, and eventual prototypes to assess the viability and strength of a new product or feature idea.
- Manage and drive results from user experience testing and gain crucial insights into how customers use (or don’t use) the platform
- In partnership with product operations, provide product metrics, including conversion rate, churn rate, and monthly recurring revenue, etc., to track and analyze the success of the product strategy
What You Bring To The Team:
- 8+ years of experience in a product management role with past responsibility for cloud-focused security products, ITDR, and/or ISPM products
- Demonstrated success driving longer-term vision and strategy that resulted in competitive outperformance
- Experience leading product innovation, feature ideation, delivery, and launch
- Experience working in an agile development environment using agile development tools
- Leverage excellent written and verbal communication skills to create epics and stories for engineering that align engineers with intended outcomes
- Experience with products delivered from AWS or other cloud environments
- Strong creative and critical thinking abilities
- Experience with G Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms)
What We Offer:
- 100% remote work environment – since our founding in 2015
- Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays
- 12 weeks of paid parental leave
- Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans
- 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution
- Life and Disability insurance plans
- Stock options for all full-time employees
- One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office
- Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance
- $75 USD/month digital reimbursement
- Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth
