Sample interview questions
How would you identify and prioritize potential galleries, dealers, and collectors for outreach?

I would define practical criteria such as relevance to post-war art and prints, inventory fit, auction activity, location, reputation, and likely openness to online selling. I would research reliable sources, record findings in a structured tracker, score prospects against the criteria, and prioritize high-fit contacts for the team.

Describe how you would keep seller research and outreach information accurate and useful for colleagues.

I would use consistent fields for contact details, source links, category relevance, outreach status, next actions, and notes. I would verify key details before entering them, update records after each interaction, and regularly flag incomplete or time-sensitive items so the team can act on dependable information.

What interests you about post-war art and prints, even if you do not have formal art-market experience?

I am interested in learning how artistic context, provenance, audience demand, and presentation influence an artwork's appeal. I would approach the category with curiosity, conduct careful research, ask informed questions of specialists, and use feedback to build my understanding quickly.

How would you prepare for a first outreach message to a potential seller?

I would first research the seller's collection, artists, gallery focus, and recent activity to ensure the message is relevant. I would write a concise, professional note that explains why Catawiki may be a fit, references a specific relevant detail, and proposes a clear, low-friction next step.

Tell us how you handle several recurring tasks, such as research, follow-ups, and weekly project deadlines.

I would break work into clear tasks, assign deadlines and priorities, and maintain a simple tracker for progress and follow-ups. I would communicate early when priorities conflict, protect time for urgent auction-related work, and provide concise progress updates so colleagues always know the status.
