Sample interview questions
I would combine funnel and behavioral data with qualitative research such as usability tests, customer-support themes, and interviews with fans. I would map the end-to-end journey, quantify the impact of major drop-off points, and prioritize opportunities by user value, business impact, confidence, and implementation effort.
I would explain how I defined the non-negotiable experience principles, scoped an MVP around the highest-risk user needs, and partnered with engineering on feasible implementation. I would launch with measurable success criteria, collect feedback quickly, and maintain a sequenced plan for iterative improvements rather than sacrificing the long-term experience.
I assess whether a solution is reusable across journeys and, when it is, create or improve a documented component with usage guidance and accessibility considerations. For urgent work, I use existing patterns where possible and capture exceptions as system debt with clear ownership and a follow-up plan.
I would use behavioral principles to improve clarity, confidence, and task completion rather than manipulate users. For example, I would make fees, inventory conditions, and purchase steps transparent, test comprehension, and avoid dark patterns that create artificial urgency or obscure important choices.
I start with shared customer problems, business outcomes, and experience principles, then make the vision tangible through journey maps, prototypes, and clear decision narratives. Regular working sessions and transparent trade-off discussions help teams understand how local decisions contribute to a consistent platform experience.
