Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize RCM and practice-management improvements for small therapy practices?

I would combine qualitative workflow research with quantitative evidence such as denial rates, days in A/R, time-to-bill, authorization-related delays, support volume, and feature adoption. I would then prioritize opportunities by customer impact, regulatory and revenue risk, strategic fit, implementation effort, and the ability to validate outcomes quickly.

Describe how you would translate a complex claims workflow into a product requirement for engineering and design.

I would map the current-state workflow with billing specialists and users, identify decisions, handoffs, exceptions, inputs, and compliance constraints, and define the desired future state. I would convert that into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow diagrams, edge cases, instrumentation requirements, and measurable success metrics while validating prototypes with representative users.

How would you measure the success of a new authorization-management capability?

I would establish baseline metrics and track authorization turnaround time, percentage of visits delivered with valid authorization, authorization-related claim denials, staff time spent on follow-up, completion rates, and user satisfaction. I would segment results by practice type and workflow maturity to ensure improvements work across relevant customer groups.

What is your approach to using AI in a healthcare product responsibly?

I would begin with a specific user problem and define where AI provides assistive value rather than unnecessary automation. I would partner with clinical, legal, security, and engineering stakeholders to establish data protections, accuracy thresholds, human review paths, auditability, and clear user communication, then monitor real-world performance after release.

Tell us how you handle ambiguity when product stakeholders have competing priorities.

I clarify the customer problem, business objective, decision owner, constraints, and evidence available, then make assumptions explicit. I create a small set of viable options with trade-offs, align stakeholders on the decision criteria, and use phased delivery or experiments to reduce uncertainty while maintaining forward progress.
