The role, at a glance.
Veriff is hiring a commercially focused Solutions Engineer to support EMEA new-business sales alongside Account Executives. The role leads technical discovery, product demonstrations, proof-of-concept evaluations, and resolution of technical objections for an identity-verification platform. Candidates need practical integration knowledge, including REST APIs, SDKs, webhooks, JSON, and Postman, plus strong presentation and stakeholder-management abilities. Experience in KYC/AML, fraud prevention, fintech, European compliance, enterprise sales cycles, and additional European languages is advantageous. This is a customer-facing pre-sales role with direct responsibility for advancing revenue opportunities, rather than a traditional technical-support position.

Sample interview questions
I would first align with the Account Executive on the business objective, stakeholders, and deal stage. In the session, I would uncover the current verification flow, target geographies, risk and compliance requirements, integration environment, success metrics, and decision process. I would summarize the findings, validate priorities with the customer, and convert them into a mutually agreed technical evaluation plan.
I would frame the demonstration around the customer's business outcome, such as reducing fraud or improving conversion, before showing technical details. I would use a realistic end-to-end workflow, explain the relevant API and webhook interactions in plain language, and connect platform capabilities to measurable value. For technical participants, I would be ready to discuss authentication, SDKs, error handling, testing, and implementation considerations.
I would clarify the specific concern, such as engineering capacity, SDK compatibility, security review, or implementation timeline. I would then map the proposed integration to available documentation, SDKs, sample flows, and a phased rollout plan, while bringing in the appropriate internal experts where needed. The goal would be to establish a credible path to value and document clear technical next steps.
I would define the POC's business hypothesis, technical scope, owners, timeline, success criteria, and decision checkpoint before work begins. During the evaluation, I would hold regular progress reviews, surface blockers early, and ensure results are tied to the buyer's original requirements. At completion, I would present the outcomes and recommended path forward jointly with the Account Executive.
I would ask about their application architecture, backend and mobile environments, authentication approach, expected verification volumes, supported markets, user journey, data-handling requirements, webhook processing, error and retry strategy, and testing environment. I would also identify security, privacy, and regulatory constraints that could affect implementation. This information allows me to recommend an integration design that is both technically sound and aligned with the customer's commercial goals.
