Sample interview questions
I establish expectations during initiation, verify staff training and essential documents, and use risk-based monitoring to identify gaps early. I document observations clearly, agree on corrective actions with the site, and follow through until resolution is confirmed and appropriately filed.
I would review the underlying source records, identify whether the issue stems from training, workflow, or protocol interpretation, and discuss findings with the investigator and site staff. I would implement a documented corrective and preventive action plan, retrain relevant staff, monitor for recurrence, and escalate material risks through the appropriate study channels.
I prioritize activities according to patient safety, data quality, enrollment needs, regulatory timelines, and visit windows. I maintain a detailed monitoring plan, communicate early about risks or scheduling constraints, and coordinate remotely with sites and internal stakeholders between onsite visits.
I provide practical guidance on visit preparation, monitoring-report quality, issue escalation, and site communication. I also use co-monitoring and structured feedback to help colleagues build confidence while ensuring their work aligns with protocol, SOP, and GCP expectations.
I confirm that the ISF, TMF, monitoring documentation, training records, and issue logs are current, complete, and internally consistent. During the audit or inspection, I provide factual and timely responses, coordinate with the project team, document requests carefully, and support prompt follow-up for any findings.
