Sample interview questions
How would you design a sourcing strategy for a specialized talent profile that has limited supply in multiple markets?

I would first clarify the required skills, language coverage, quality thresholds, volume, timeline, and acceptable locations. I would map likely talent communities and channels, test several sourcing hypotheses, track response and conversion by channel, and rapidly shift investment toward the approaches producing qualified supply.

Describe how you have used sourcing data to improve recruiting outcomes.

I monitor funnel metrics such as contact-to-response, response-to-screen, screen-to-qualified, and qualified-to-start rates by source and market. When a stage underperforms, I investigate messaging, qualification criteria, candidate experience, or operational constraints, then run controlled changes and measure the resulting lift.

How would you balance urgent high-volume demand with difficult niche searches?

I would segment work by business impact, deadline, complexity, and supply risk, then establish dedicated operating lanes for scalable volume and specialist searches. Clear service levels, capacity planning, and frequent stakeholder updates help protect niche work from being overwhelmed by immediate volume needs.

What role should AI and automation play in a sourcing organization?

AI and automation should remove repetitive work while preserving human judgment for candidate quality, stakeholder alignment, and ethical decisions. I would use them for research support, lead enrichment, outreach personalization at scale, reporting, and identifying funnel bottlenecks, with quality checks and privacy safeguards built into the workflow.

How do you communicate sourcing risks to Delivery and production stakeholders?

I communicate risks early using a concise view of demand, available supply, conversion assumptions, timelines, and mitigation options. Rather than only reporting a problem, I recommend tradeoffs such as expanding locations, adjusting requirements, changing sequencing, or allocating additional sourcing capacity.
