Sample interview questions
How do you approach translating English marketing content into Burmese while retaining its persuasive intent?

I first identify the intended audience, brand voice, and conversion goal. I then adapt the message idiomatically rather than translating word for word, while preserving approved terminology and ensuring the Burmese copy is clear, natural, and culturally appropriate.

What quality checks do you perform when copy-editing or post-editing machine-translated content?

I review meaning accuracy, fluency, terminology, grammar, punctuation, formatting, and consistency with style guides. For MTPE, I pay particular attention to omissions, mistranslations, unnatural literal phrasing, variables, placeholders, and UI character constraints.

Describe your experience using CAT tools and translation memories.

I use CAT tools to maintain consistency, apply terminology, leverage translation memories, and run quality-assurance checks. I also verify segment context carefully, since matches and machine suggestions still require editorial judgment for Burmese fluency and product accuracy.

How would you manage a recurring workload of more than 5,000 words per week while maintaining quality?

I would plan capacity by deadline and content complexity, reserve time for editing and QA, and communicate early about any risks or terminology questions. I use a structured workflow with translation, self-review, CAT QA, and final formatting checks before delivery.

How do you handle feedback or requested revisions from a client?

I review feedback objectively, clarify any ambiguous comments, and apply validated terminology or style decisions consistently across related work. I view revisions as an opportunity to align more closely with the client's preferences and improve future deliveries.
