Sample interview questions
I identify repetitive, error-prone tasks, document the desired state, and automate them with tools such as Ansible and scripts. I include peer review, testing, idempotency checks, logging, and rollback procedures so the automation is safe to run repeatedly in production.
I would define release criteria, versioning, approval paths, deployment runbooks, testing gates, change records, and rollback plans. I would also measure deployment success, incidents, and lead time so the process can improve without becoming unnecessarily bureaucratic.
I first assess impact and stabilize the service, then review monitoring data, logs, recent changes, resource utilization, network connectivity, and dependencies. I communicate status clearly, apply the least risky remediation, and complete a documented root-cause review with preventive actions.
I would use version-controlled infrastructure definitions, environment-specific variables, peer-reviewed changes, and automated validation before deployment. This provides traceability while reducing configuration drift and making environments reproducible.
I begin by clarifying the business outcome, constraints, ownership model, and operational requirements in plain language. I then convert those needs into an incremental technical plan, share trade-offs early, and provide clear documentation and handoff materials for long-term support.
