Sample interview questions
I would begin with customer research to understand the workflow problem, desired outcome and concerns around AI. I would then distill the product value into a simple positioning territory, validate it with Product and Creative partners, and build a narrative system that can scale across launch messaging, campaigns and product touchpoints.
I would outline the customer problem, the product complexity and the core insight that simplified the story. I would explain how I aligned cross-functional teams on one central idea, adapted it for priority channels and measured outcomes such as awareness, consideration, adoption or conversion.
I set a clear role for each initiative: build memory structures and preference over time while making the immediate customer value easy to understand. I use a consistent brand platform and measure both leading brand indicators and campaign performance so that short-term optimization does not dilute long-term differentiation.
I would create alignment around the customer, evidence and business objective rather than personal preference. I would present a concise set of strategic options, clarify the trade-offs of each, recommend a direction and use research, market context and creative examples to make the decision tangible.
I would assess whether the opportunity authentically connects to creative professionals, supports Envato’s product and brand position, and offers a distinctive contribution rather than reactive visibility. I would also define the audience, expected value, execution feasibility and success measures before committing resources.
About this role.
Help shape how Envato’s product shows up in the world
Envato is an all-in-one creative asset toolkit, bringing together millions of creative assets and AI tools to help creative professionals make better work, faster. Everything we do in Marketing starts with the product: what it enables, the problems it solves and the momentum it creates for the people using it.
That is where our Brand team comes in.
We’re looking for a Senior Brand Lead to make sure Envato’s brand and product story are working together. You’ll help us translate what we are building into a brand that creative professionals want to be part of. One that feels useful, inspiring and distinctly Envato.
You’ll be close to Product, Creative, Content and Growth, helping shape the thinking behind the launches, campaigns and stories that bring Envato to market. From a new AI workflow to a major product release, you’ll help uncover the customer value, find the strongest story and make sure the work lands with the people it is for.
What you’ll do
You’ll report to the Head of Creative and Brand Marketing, with the opportunity to work closely with the CEO and senior leaders across the business. This is a senior individual contributor role with real autonomy. You’ll have room to shape the work, bring a point of view and turn good thinking into action.
A big part of the role is staying close to creative professionals. You’ll be driven to understand how they work, what slows them down, what inspires them and what is changing in their world. You’ll bring those insights back into the team, using them to influence how we build, position and talk about our product.
Some days that might mean working with Product Marketing and our Creative Studio to land the story behind a launch. Other days it might mean developing a campaign, building a partnership, working with an agency or spotting a cultural shift Envato should be part of.
You’ll bring strong brand experience, instincts and commercial marketing judgement. You can take a complex product or customer insight and turn it into a clear, compelling idea. You know that great brand work is not just about looking good. It helps people understand why a product matters, gives them a reason to choose it and makes them want to come back.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for someone with deep brand and campaign experience, ideally from a digital product, subscription, technology or creative business. You’ll be comfortable working at both the strategic and practical level, confident with senior stakeholders and motivated by the chance to help a product-led brand keep evolving.
Most of all, you’ll care about creative work. You’ll be curious about new technology and AI, but equally interested in the human judgement, taste and craft that make the final result worth making.
