Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize new key-account opportunities across a large territory?

I would segment prospects by market potential, strategic fit, buying readiness, and ability to influence broader channel adoption. I would then build account plans for the highest-value opportunities, maintain a disciplined pipeline, and review conversion signals regularly to reallocate time effectively.

Describe your approach to growing revenue within an existing strategic account.

I start by mapping stakeholders, current product adoption, business priorities, and unmet needs. I use that information to create a joint growth plan with clear use cases, training, commercial milestones, and regular business reviews that identify expansion opportunities.

How do you communicate a technical security solution's value to a non-technical buyer?

I translate product capabilities into operational and commercial outcomes, such as improved protection, simpler deployment, reduced support burden, and stronger customer confidence. I tailor the message to the buyer's priorities and support it with relevant demonstrations and customer examples.

Tell us how you would handle a difficult commercial negotiation with a key account.

I would prepare around the customer's objectives, decision process, alternatives, and the value Ajax provides. During the negotiation, I would protect value rather than defaulting to discounting, explore mutually beneficial trade-offs, and document clear commitments for both parties.

How do you remain productive in a semi-autonomous role with significant travel?

I use structured territory plans, weekly pipeline reviews, and route planning to focus travel on high-impact meetings. I keep CRM records current, set measurable account objectives, and maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders to ensure priorities remain aligned.
