Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize new Procure-to-Pay features against defects, customer escalations, and technical debt?

I would use a transparent prioritization framework that weighs customer and revenue impact, compliance risk, user frequency, delivery effort, and operational urgency. I would reserve capacity for reliability and technical debt, communicate trade-offs through the roadmap, and revisit priorities regularly using product-health and support data.

How would you design an AI agent that automatically codes invoices while maintaining finance-team trust?

I would begin with clear data-quality and confidence thresholds, then route lower-confidence cases to an AP reviewer with an explanation of the suggested coding rationale. I would provide audit trails, exception workflows, measurable accuracy targets, and staged rollout controls so users can validate performance before automation expands.

Describe your approach to discovering a customer problem in an AP or procurement workflow.

I would combine workflow interviews, job shadowing, support-ticket analysis, product telemetry, and review of the underlying financial controls. I would map the current process from requisition through payment, identify costly or risky handoffs, validate the problem across customer segments, and test a focused prototype before committing to a full solution.

How would you ensure a global P2P feature supports tax and compliance requirements without creating an overly complex user experience?

I would partner with finance and compliance experts to separate universal workflow needs from jurisdiction-specific rules. The product would use configurable policy logic and sensible defaults while presenting only the information and actions relevant to each user, with clear validation messages and complete auditability.

What metrics would you use to measure the success of a new invoice-capture and matching capability?

I would track adoption, percentage of invoices captured automatically, extraction accuracy, match rate, exception rate, time to approval, manual-touch reduction, and user satisfaction. I would also monitor financial-control indicators such as duplicate-invoice prevention, false-positive rates, and the proportion of AI decisions requiring human override.

About the Job

The Product Manager owns strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) domain of the Zone & Co platform — covering procurement, vendor management, AP automation, invoice capture, approvals, and payments. Reporting to the Director of Product, this role spans the full product lifecycle, from discovery through launch and ongoing health of live features.

You’ll translate complex AP/procurement workflows (requisition-to-approval, three-way match, invoice capture, payment execution) into intuitive software built natively on Oracle NetSuite. This is a ground-floor opportunity in “Agentic Finance” — you’ll spend more time in working prototypes than slide decks, using AI to move from insight to demo in hours, and you’ll define how autonomous agents earn user trust in a domain where accuracy is non-negotiable.

What You’ll Do

  • Define product vision and strategy for P2P, backed by market and customer research
  • Own the roadmap — set OKRs and prioritize new features, enhancements, defects, and tech debt
  • Lead development with Engineering and Design through the Agile lifecycle
  • Drive Agentic AI integration — automate invoice coding, matching, exception handling, and approval routing, while designing guardrails, confidence thresholds, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints
  • Prototype fast with AI, then turn what works into requirements, user stories, and quality evals for AI features
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing on GTM strategy and enablement
  • Ensure product logic meets global financial and tax compliance standards
  • Monitor performance and iterate based on data and customer feedback
  • Protect UX so complex workflows stay intuitive within NetSuite
  • Manage backlog, stakeholder alignment, UAT, and internal training
  • Use AI tools to summarize customer feedback from Support and Sales
  • Evaluate third-party integrations and support technical debt reduction

What You’ll Need

Required

  • AI-native: builds with AI daily and has shipped AI/agentic features to production
  • 5+ years in Product Management within Fintech, ERP, or B2B SaaS, with direct P2P/AP/procurement ownership
  • Hands-on finance experience (practitioner or close partner to AP/procurement/controllership teams)
  • Track record taking roadmaps from discovery to launch
  • Experience owning a live, at-scale product — balancing new work against defects, escalations, and tech debt
  • Strong Agile/Scrum skills and familiarity with tools like Jira or Productboard
  • Proven success in fully remote, async, globally distributed teams
  • Excellent communicator, able to translate compliance logic into simple software

Preferred

  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite or a comparable native ERP platform
  • Familiarity with P2P/spend tools (Coupa, Ariba, Bill.com, Tipalti, AvidXchange, Ramp) and OCR/document capture
  • Understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax logic (VAT/GST/Sales Tax)
  • Finance/accounting/procurement certification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CPIM, etc.)
  • Experience scaling products in high-growth (Series C–D) environments
