Sample interview questions
How would you build an EMEA event plan that is accountable to pipeline rather than attendance alone?

I would start with sales and partner leaders to define priority segments, target accounts, pipeline objectives, and event tiers. For each event, I would establish a target-account list, pre-event meeting goals, lead-capture process, ownership for follow-up, and attribution reporting. I would review performance regularly and reallocate budget toward programs that produce qualified opportunities and progression.

Describe how you would launch a technical community program in London.

I would define a clear developer-focused value proposition centered on practical learning, credible practitioners, and hands-on content rather than product pitches. I would recruit speakers from customers, partners, and the local builder ecosystem, establish a recurring cadence, and use attendance, repeat participation, engagement, and influenced pipeline to evaluate the program. Feedback from each session would inform the next program.

How have you worked with partners to deliver co-marketing programs?

I align early on shared audiences, goals, responsibilities, investment, and success metrics. I then create a joint execution plan covering content, promotion, registration, meeting booking, lead-sharing rules, and follow-up. A regular operating cadence keeps both teams accountable and makes it easier to scale successful formats across markets.

What systems would you create so sales and partner teams can run events independently?

I would develop an event-in-a-box with positioning, talk tracks, signage guidance, approved swag, registration templates, lead-capture instructions, follow-up sequences, budget guardrails, and reporting requirements. I would also introduce a lightweight intake and approval process that prioritizes opportunities against consistent criteria. This reduces repeated work while preserving brand quality and pipeline accountability.

How would you use AI in this role while maintaining quality and compliance?

I would use AI to accelerate event research, audience segmentation, project planning, content drafts, attendee follow-up preparation, and post-event reporting. Human review would remain essential for brand voice, partner communication, customer-facing materials, and GDPR-sensitive data handling. I would measure whether each workflow improves speed, quality, or conversion before scaling it.

Company Operating Rhythm

At Deepgram, we expect an AI-first mindset—AI use and comfort aren’t optional, they’re core to how we operate, innovate, and measure performance.

Every team member who works at Deepgram is expected to actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools, and even build your own into your everyday work. We measure how effectively AI is applied to deliver results, and consistent, creative use of the latest AI capabilities is key to success here. Candidates should be comfortable adopting new models and modes quickly, integrating AI into their workflows, and continuously pushing the boundaries of what these technologies can do.

Additionally, we move at the pace of AI. Change is rapid, and you can expect your day-to-day work to evolve just as quickly. This may not be the right role if you’re not excited to experiment, adapt, think on your feet, and learn constantly, or if you’re seeking something highly prescriptive with a traditional 9-to-5.

Team Overview

EMEA is a growing market for Deepgram, and we’re moving from opportunistic sponsorships to a planned events and field program tied to pipeline. You’ll be our first field and events marketer in the region, based in London, working with EMEA sales and partner leads and as part of the global Marketing team, reporting to the Senior Director, Events & Field Marketing.

You’ll build a London technical community and partner motions across the region, and connect every event to sales pipeline. The playbook you create will shape how Europe’s builders and buyers experience Deepgram for years.

Key Goals

  • Publish a committed 6-9 month EMEA events plan and tiering model, agreed with sales and partner leads within your first 30 days

  • Launch a recurring London technical community program with steady attendance from developers, builders and customers

  • Stand up repeatable joint programs with cloud, technology or channel partners, with shared goals and pipeline tracked from day one

  • Build an event-to-sales system (target account lists, pre-event meeting booking, fast follow-up) that meets pre-set pipeline objectives

  • Ship an event-in-a-box kit (signage, swag, talk tracks, lead capture) so local sales and partner teams can run key events without hands-on marketing support

  • Replace ad hoc requests with a simple intake-and-approval process, with a portion of budget and capacity planning reserved for late-breaking partner opportunities

Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities

  • Builds communities technical audiences show up for: hands-on content, credible speakers, real builders in the room, no sales pitches

  • Designs partner marketing motions with cloud, technology or channel partners, with shared goals and measurable pipeline

  • Connects events to sales: aligns on target accounts, books pre-event meetings, and drives follow-up that turns attendance into pipeline

  • Operates AI-native: designs Human+AI workflows for event planning, follow-up and reporting

  • Builds systems that eliminate recurring work, such as event kits and intake processes, instead of re-solving each event

  • Ranks opportunities against clear criteria and aligns sales, partner and marketing stakeholders around one plan

  • Executes events with sound logistics and vendor management, and handles lead capture in line with GDPR

  • Works self-directed as the first in region, across time zones with a US-based team; travels across the region regularly (roughly 40-50%)

Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-have, not required)

  • Typically ~5-8 years in event or field marketing, or equivalent demonstrated experience

  • Background in B2B SaaS, developer-focused or AI/infrastructure marketing

  • Experience running co-marketing programs with technical partners

  • Professional proficiency in an additional European language, such as French or German

Our Values

  • Be You: bring your whole self and a different perspective; diverse viewpoints make our products better.

  • Be Curious: challenge the status quo, keep learning, and ask ‘how might we?’ instead of accepting limits.

  • Grow Together: push each other to do great work, treat feedback as a gift, and leave the drama out.

  • Do the Right Thing: act with integrity and candor, assume best intent, choose ethics over expediency.

  • Think Smart. Act Fast.: weigh the high-leverage options, decide, and move; no analysis paralysis.

  • Put the Customer First: listen with empathy, understand their goals, and let their success drive ours.

We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting great candidates — so please don’t hesitate to apply. We’d love to hear from you.
