Sample interview questions
I would begin by defining the intended clinical use, target population, contraindications, and potential harms. I would translate evidence-based standards into testable requirements, use structured clinical review and scenario-based evaluation, assess safety and quality metrics, and establish post-launch monitoring with clear escalation pathways.
Clinical research training supports careful hypothesis formation, operational definitions, study design, interpretation of evidence, and transparent communication of limitations. I would apply these skills to evaluate model outputs, feature performance, user outcomes, and safety signals rather than relying on anecdotal impressions.
I would describe the concern in concrete, user-centered terms, explain the clinical rationale and severity, provide representative scenarios, and propose measurable acceptance criteria. I would collaborate on feasible mitigations while documenting residual risk and defining the evidence needed before release.
The product should clearly define its scope and limitations, avoid unsupported clinical claims, identify crisis or deterioration signals, and provide appropriate escalation and human-support pathways. Evaluation should include diverse and higher-risk scenarios, with ongoing monitoring for unsafe outputs, access barriers, and disparate impacts.
I would involve diverse clinical and lived-experience perspectives throughout design and evaluation, test content across relevant populations and contexts, and examine outcomes for potential bias or unequal performance. Cultural responsiveness should be a product requirement with measurable review criteria, not only a final-stage consideration.
