Sample interview questions
How do you build a success plan for a new strategic SaaS account?

I begin by aligning on the client's business objectives, stakeholders, implementation milestones, adoption measures, and desired outcomes. I document mutual responsibilities, establish an executive review cadence, and use leading indicators such as usage, engagement, and support trends to identify risk early.

Describe how you would handle a high-severity escalation from an executive client stakeholder.

I would acknowledge the issue promptly, clarify the business impact and desired resolution, and create a cross-functional action plan with named owners and deadlines. I would provide transparent updates, manage expectations, and conduct a post-resolution review to prevent recurrence and rebuild confidence.

What signals do you use to assess renewal risk?

I combine quantitative signals such as adoption, utilization, support volume, NPS or CSAT, and engagement with qualitative inputs from sponsors and end users. I then translate the findings into a documented risk plan with clear actions, executive alignment, and a timeline before the renewal window.

How do you identify an expansion opportunity without making the client feel oversold?

I focus on the client's stated goals, current workflow gaps, and evidence that additional capabilities would create measurable value. I validate the use case with the customer, partner with the Account Executive on the account plan, and position expansion as a solution to an agreed business need rather than a generic upsell.

How have you used AI tools to improve customer success work?

I use approved AI tools to summarize account research, draft tailored communications, identify themes in feedback, prepare business-review materials, and automate repeatable documentation. I verify outputs carefully, protect confidential information, and retain judgment for client-facing decisions.
