Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize which competitors and market segments to cover first?

I would combine revenue impact, deal frequency, strategic market importance, product overlap, and stakeholder demand into a transparent prioritization model. I would validate the ranking with Sales, Product, Marketing, and leadership, then review it regularly as market conditions and win/loss signals change.

Describe how you would turn competitor research into useful sales enablement.

I would distill validated research into concise battlecards, objection-handling guidance, positioning narratives, and discovery questions tailored to common deal scenarios. I would test these materials with field teams, measure adoption and influence on competitive opportunities, and continuously update them from field feedback.

How do you maintain objectivity and ethical standards in competitive intelligence?

I use only lawful, reputable, and appropriately obtained sources, distinguish facts from assumptions, and document source confidence and dates. I avoid inflammatory claims, clearly state uncertainty, and seek cross-functional review when conclusions could materially affect product or commercial strategy.

What approach would you use to build an internal AI competitive-intelligence assistant?

I would begin with high-value user workflows, such as competitor comparisons, battlecard retrieval, and deal-specific objection support. I would establish curated source content, permissions, citation requirements, quality evaluation, and a process for subject-matter experts to refresh information so the assistant remains trustworthy.

How would you use win/loss analysis to improve competitive strategy?

I would segment outcomes by competitor, use case, industry, deal size, product fit, and sales stage to identify repeatable patterns. I would pair quantitative findings with interviews and field feedback, then translate the results into specific changes to messaging, enablement, product priorities, or pricing guidance.
