Sample interview questions
I would begin by understanding the partner's product roadmap, customer segments, technical architecture, and commercial goals. I would assess where Canonical technology can solve a validated customer or product need, estimate impact and feasibility, then align priorities with both organizations' owners and measurable outcomes.
I would document the requirement, its business impact, affected users, and technical constraints. I would validate the gap with product and engineering, explore interim solutions such as reference architectures or enablement, and create a transparent roadmap discussion with the partner rather than committing to unsupported delivery dates.
I start with the business problem, the expected outcome, and the risks of inaction. I use plain language, a concise architecture visual where helpful, and connect technical capabilities to measurable value such as faster deployment, lower operational risk, or improved supportability.
I would define the target customer profile, joint value proposition, solution positioning, launch milestones, content assets, enablement activities, sales motions, owners, and success metrics. The plan should also specify how feedback from early customers will inform product and marketing adjustments.
I would use clear written plans, documented decisions, and predictable communication cadences to keep work visible. I would protect focused execution time, schedule critical live discussions thoughtfully, and proactively surface risks or dependencies before they delay partner commitments.
