About this role.

About Us

Fieldguide is the agentic AI-native platform for audit and advisory. We’re establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets by putting AI agents to work alongside the practitioners who verify how the economy actually operates.

The profession is facing a structural capacity problem. CPA exam candidates are at a 17-year low, and as many as 75% of today’s CPAs are expected to retire over the next decade, while regulatory complexity and client expectations keep rising. We’re building the system that closes that gap.

We’ve raised over $125M from Growth Equity by Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Thomson Reuters, Floodgate, and Y Combinator. More than half of the top-100 U.S. CPA firms are customers, including several Big 4 firms, and we have the NPS to match. Our agents help practitioners save up to 75% of time on manual tasks and unlock over 4x capacity.

We’re deliberate about how we operate. Our FFLOWI values (Fearless, Fast, Lovable, Owners, Win-Win, Inclusive) mean we launch fast and iterate to perfection, we solve problems without red tape, and we hold ourselves to 11-star experiences for customers who cannot afford to be let down.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, Product Strategy & Operations, you’ll be the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market, turning strategy into execution across the product lifecycle. You’ll build the operating systems that help our product teams make better decisions, ship with confidence, and prove measurable impact for the firms betting their delivery model on us.

This is the first dedicated hire in this function. You’ll work as an extension of product leadership, balancing hands-on execution with strategic initiatives, and you’ll build from zero rather than inherit. If ambiguity slows you down, this isn’t the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain Voice of Customer systems that synthesize signal from engagement partners, managers, and staff auditors, along with Solutions, Implementation, and Sales, into product signals teams can act on

  • Establish rigorous mechanisms for measuring product success and user impact i.e. dashboards, KPIs

  • Own the analysis behind major product bets: competitive positioning, where agent capabilities should expand next, and the unit economics of running agents at scale i.e. inference cost per engagement, cost-to-serve by segment, and what those trends imply for roadmap sequencing

  • Own and improve core product development processes, tooling, and team rituals: planning cycles, roadmap reviews, monthly business reviews

  • Build run-of-business systems that scale as we grow i.e. launch calendars, intake frameworks, RACI structures

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success

Who You Are

  • 6-8+ years in Product Operations, Product Management, product or corporate strategy, consulting, or a closely related operational role at a high-growth tech or SaaS company

  • You’ve built processes and programs from scratch and scaled them thoughtfully, not just inherited and maintained them

  • Strong ability to translate complex qualitative and quantitative data — usage metrics, feedback themes, retention signals — into clear recommendations and roadmap inputs. You can pull the data yourself rather than waiting on a queue

  • Proven ability to drive alignment across Product, GTM, and Engineering without direct authority

Sample interview questions
How would you build a voice-of-customer system for multiple audit-firm personas?

I would define priority personas and decision questions first, then consolidate structured inputs from interviews, support cases, implementation feedback, sales calls, and usage data. I would establish a consistent taxonomy, quantify frequency and impact, and publish a recurring insight review that connects customer evidence to specific product decisions.

Describe how you would evaluate whether to expand an AI-agent capability into a new workflow.

I would combine customer demand, workflow pain severity, market differentiation, implementation complexity, expected adoption, and unit economics. I would frame assumptions explicitly, model cost-to-serve and inference costs by segment, validate the highest-risk assumptions with customers and prototypes, and recommend a sequenced investment decision.

What metrics would you use to measure product success in this role?

I would use a layered metric set: activation and feature adoption, engagement depth, workflow completion, time saved, quality or error outcomes, retention signals, and customer satisfaction. I would pair these with operating metrics such as release predictability and launch readiness, ensuring each metric has an owner and decision-making purpose.

How do you create alignment when Product, Engineering, and Sales have competing priorities?

I make the trade-offs visible through a shared problem statement, common metrics, customer evidence, capacity constraints, and a clear decision process. I facilitate discussion around outcomes rather than functional preferences, document decisions and owners, and follow up through established planning and business-review cadences.

Tell us about a process you would build from zero for a growing product organization.

I would start with the smallest repeatable version of the process, such as a monthly roadmap review with standardized inputs on customer signals, delivery status, risks, and key metrics. After testing it with stakeholders, I would automate data collection where useful, clarify RACI ownership, and refine the process based on whether it improves decision speed and quality.
