The role, at a glance.
Binance is hiring a contract Investigation Analyst to investigate geofencing alerts, suspicious login activity, and account-risk signals. The role requires reviewing IP and account data, requesting additional information from users, and making evidence-based block or unblock decisions under internal procedures. Candidates need at least two years of investigation, fraud prevention, financial-crime, compliance, or risk-operations experience. This is a global remote role supporting a high-volume, fast-moving screening escalations function across APAC, LATAM, and MENA. Strong written documentation, sound judgment, and consistent SLA delivery are central to success.

Sample interview questions
I would review the alert context, login history, IP reputation, geolocation consistency, device and account activity, and any relevant user-provided information. I would document the evidence, assess the risk against the applicable SOP, and determine whether to unblock, restrict, request information, or escalate the case.
I separate confirmed facts from assumptions, identify the highest-risk indicators, and seek additional evidence through internal tools or an RFI where appropriate. If the remaining uncertainty exceeds my decision authority or creates material risk, I escalate with a concise evidence summary and recommendation.
I prioritize cases by risk and SLA, use a consistent investigation checklist, and record findings as I work rather than retrospectively. I also monitor recurring alert patterns and raise workflow or rule-quality issues that may reduce avoidable volume without compromising controls.
I would include the alert trigger, timeline of relevant activity, IP and geolocation findings, account history, user communications, evidence reviewed, risk indicators, actions already taken, and the specific decision or guidance needed from the escalation team.
I would use clear, neutral language that explains the information or documentation required and the response deadline without disclosing sensitive detection logic. I would ensure the request follows approved templates, record all communication in the case, and assess the response against the original risk indicators.
