About ElevenLabs

ElevenLabs is an AI research and product company transforming how we interact with technology.

We launched in January 2023 with the first human-like AI voice model. Today, we serve millions of users and thousands of businesses – from fast-growing startups to large enterprises like Deutsche Telekom and Meta. Our investors are some of the world’s most prominent, including Andreessen Horowitz, ICONIQ Growth and Sequoia. We’ve raised $781M in funding and our last valuation was $22B – multiples of 11, always.

We have expanded from voice into three main platforms:

  • ElevenAgents enables businesses to deliver seamless and intelligent customer experiences, with the integrations, testing, monitoring, and reliability necessary to deploy voice and chat agents at scale.

  • ElevenCreative empowers creators and marketers to generate and edit speech, music, image, and video across 70+ languages.

  • ElevenAPI gives developers access to our leading AI audio foundational models.

Everything we do is the result of the creativity and commitment of our team – builders doing the best work of their lives. We are researchers, engineers, and operators. IOI medalists and ex-founders. If you want to work hard and create lasting positive impact, we want to hear from you.

How we work

  • High-velocity: Rapid experimentation, lean autonomous teams, and minimal bureaucracy.

  • Impact not job titles: We don’t have job titles. Instead, it’s about the impact you have. No task is above or beneath you.

  • AI first: We use AI to move faster with higher-quality results. We do this across the whole company—from engineering to growth to operations.

  • Excellence everywhere: Everything we do should match the quality of our AI models.

  • Global team: We prioritize your talent, not your location.

What we offer

  • Innovative culture: You’ll be part of a generational opportunity to define the trajectory of AI, surrounded by a team pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

  • Growth paths: Joining ElevenLabs means joining a dynamic team with countless opportunities to drive impact – beyond your immediate role and responsibilities.

  • Learning & development: ElevenLabs proactively supports professional development through an annual discretionary stipend.

  • Social travel: We also provide an annual discretionary stipend to meet up with colleagues each year, however you choose.

  • Annual team offsite: Each year, we bring your entire team together in a new location – past offsites have included Croatia, Italy and Cancún

  • Co-working: If you’re not located near one of our main hubs, we offer a monthly co-working stipend.

About the role

We’re looking for an iOS Engineer to join our growing mobile team and build the Creative App (iOS), bringing our audio AI to millions of users. You’ll ship features that integrate tightly with our AI-driven audio models, and work out where focused bets or incremental improvements will move the product most.

You’re impact-driven and autonomous, and good at drawing clear conclusions from experimental results. You’ll work closely with design, product and research, and help shape the app’s architecture and technical direction.

Requirements

  • Strong native iOS development (Swift, SwiftUI) with a track record of shipping features that improved engagement

  • Have designed and run A/B tests, using data to decide what to build next

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities, and able to add structure where it’s needed

  • Experience owning performance, quality and responsiveness in a production app

Bonus

  • Experience with audio playback or streaming on iOS

  • Experience building mobile infrastructure for build, test and release pipelines

Location

This role is remote-first, so it can be executed from anywhere, with the ability to operate in GMT to GMT+4 timezones preferred. If you prefer, you can work from our offices in London, Warsaw, Dublin, Amsterdam and Paris.

Sample interview questions
Describe an iOS feature you shipped that measurably improved user engagement.

I would explain the user problem, the hypothesis, the implementation in Swift or SwiftUI, and the metrics used to evaluate success. I would also share the outcome, lessons learned, and follow-up improvements based on the data.

How would you design an A/B test for a new AI audio-creation workflow in a mobile app?

I would define a clear hypothesis, select a primary metric such as completed creations or retention, and establish guardrail metrics such as crashes, latency, and subscription conversion. I would randomize eligible users, ensure sufficient sample size, monitor experiment health, and use the result to make a documented product decision.

What approaches do you use to diagnose and improve iOS app performance?

I use Instruments, OS logging, crash reports, and real-user performance data to identify bottlenecks in CPU, memory, rendering, networking, and audio processing. I then prioritize changes that improve responsiveness without sacrificing correctness, and validate them with automated and production metrics.

How would you approach integrating streaming AI-generated audio into an iOS application?

I would define a resilient streaming interface with buffering, cancellation, retry handling, and clear loading and error states. I would use appropriate AVFoundation components, manage audio-session interruptions, minimize latency, and test behavior across network conditions and device states.

How do you make architectural decisions when product priorities are changing quickly?

I favor small, reversible decisions for uncertain areas while protecting stable boundaries around core data flow, networking, and UI state. I communicate trade-offs early, document assumptions, and incrementally evolve the architecture as product evidence and usage patterns become clearer.
