Opportunity details

About this role.

For the curious writers and search obsessed.

You know that feeling when you search for something and find an article that actually answers your question, no robotic filler, no keyword stuffing, just great taste and genuine utility? That’s the exact energy we care about.

We’re looking for an Editorial Content Specialist who loves the sweet spot where storytelling meets search intelligence. Someone who crafts pieces creative pros actually want to read, while understanding how modern search and answer engines discover and surface that work.

A little about us

Envato is an all-in-one creative toolkit, bringing together world-class creative assets and purpose-built AI tools to help people make their ideas real.

Our community is made up of designers, filmmakers, editors and creators who care about craft, love experimenting and are always looking for the next tool, technique or spark of inspiration to make better work.

What’s the gig?

You’ll be creating and editing tutorials, guides, and articles that solve real problems for creative pros. You’ll be digging into search trends and AI search behaviours to find untapped content gaps, producing fresh pieces that rank in traditional search and get cited in AI answer overviews.

You’ll be using generative AI daily to speed up your ideation and drafting, always backing it up with your sharp editorial eye so everything sounds human, clear, and on-brand.

You’ll also be publishing directly in WordPress, curating visuals from Envato, optimising internal links, and checking performance data to iterate on what works best alongside our Search Visibility team and external contributors.

Sound like you?

You have 5+ years of experience in writing, content marketing, or editorial roles, ideally within creative tools or tech. You know organic search inside out and already understand how answer engine optimization (AEO) and AI summaries work.

Generative AI is a natural part of your daily creative workflow, you’re confident managing content in WordPress, and you communicate fluently in both English and Spanish. Most of all, you bring strong editorial judgement and take pride in work that real humans enjoy reading.

Sample interview questions
How would you identify an editorial opportunity that can perform in both traditional search and AI answer engines?

I would combine keyword and trend research with SERP analysis, audience questions, and competitor gap reviews. I would then define a clear search intent, create a genuinely useful outline with direct answers and practical examples, and ensure the article has strong structure, credible sourcing, and relevant internal links.

How do you use generative AI without compromising editorial quality?

I use AI to accelerate research, idea generation, outlines, and early drafts, but I do not treat its output as final. I verify claims, add original expertise and examples, refine the voice, and edit for accuracy, clarity, usefulness, and brand alignment.

Describe your process for editing a technical or creative tutorial.

I first confirm the target reader, desired outcome, and accuracy of every step. I improve the structure, simplify unclear language, add context where a reader could get stuck, check examples and visuals, and ensure the finished piece is easy to scan and act on.

Which metrics would you monitor after publishing an SEO-focused article?

I would track impressions, rankings, organic clicks, click-through rate, engagement, conversions where applicable, and internal-link paths. I would also review query data and changes in search-result features to identify opportunities for title, structure, depth, or linking improvements.

How would you collaborate with search specialists and external contributors?

I would align on the brief, audience, search intent, scope, voice, deadlines, and success criteria before drafting begins. During review, I would provide actionable editorial feedback, explain the reasoning behind changes, and maintain a reliable workflow that protects both quality and publishing velocity.
