P. G. asked the community

Is a lower remote salary fair for my current location?

Salary, Benefits & Offers Asked Active 29 Jul 2026
Question details

I received a fully remote offer from a company that hires internationally. The role, hours, and responsibilities are the same as those of employees in higher-cost countries, but the offer uses a location-adjusted salary band for my country. The recruiter says this is standard policy and that the benefits are identical.

Is this kind of location-based pay difference normal, and what evidence should I use to decide whether to negotiate or decline the offer?
