Tax Site Supervisor

During my tenure in tax preparation from January 2020 to January 2022, I played a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate completion of tax returns at two key locations: Centro del Inmigrante in Port Richmond and the Project Hospitality Help center in Port Richmond, Staten Island.

I provided effective supervision and guidance to a dedicated team of tax preparers and quality reviewers, resulting in the successful completion and accurate filing of over 800 federal and state tax returns. My deep understanding of federal and state tax laws allowed me to make precise calculations and ensure compliance with all legal requirements for every tax return prepared.

One of my notable achievements was consistently surpassing program goals by maintaining an outstanding 98% accuracy rate in tax return preparation. This high level of accuracy contributed significantly to client satisfaction and the overall success of the program. Moreover, I remained in full compliance with IRS regulations and guidelines, preventing any compliance issues during audits or reviews.

I actively promoted the free tax preparation program within the community, resulting in a 15% increase in the number of individuals served during the second tax season. My commitment to staying up-to-date with tax code updates was evident through my annual acquisition of the IRS VITA/TE Advanced certification, enhancing my expertise in the field.

In an effort to streamline operations and promote sustainability, I successfully led the transition to a paperless filing system, significantly improving efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and saving over 100 administrative hours per season.

Thriving in a fast-paced environment, I managed a substantial workload of over 400 tax returns per season, consistently delivering meticulous attention to detail and maintaining a high level of accuracy throughout.

As a Community Health Worker Supervisor, I have achieved significant impact through my leadership and community engagement efforts. I have led and participated in 42 community meetings, addressing crucial COVID-19 and health-related topics, which have significantly increased community awareness and engagement. Additionally, I orchestrated 290 productive outreach sessions, consistently connecting community members with essential health information and resources.

I have pioneered 3-4 dynamic health pop-up events, collaborating with esteemed organizations to provide over 10 health services and administer at least 4 crucial vaccines. These events have greatly improved health services accessibility and community health.

In the digital realm, I have spearheaded 152 unique social media posts, enhancing health awareness and outreach through a curated online presence. Moreover, as a Community Health Worker Supervisor, I led a 14-month grant-funded initiative aimed at reducing health disparities in targeted Staten Island zip codes, making tangible progress toward enhanced health equity within the community.

Building trust and fostering engagement have been central to my role. As a trusted community member, I have expertly connected residents to essential health and social services, resulting in increased engagement with vital resources. Additionally, I actively engaged with approximately 250 individuals per month per Community Health Worker to ensure the timely dissemination of critical health information and support during the ongoing pandemic.

My ability to form impactful collaborative partnerships with diverse organizations, such as churches, CBOs, law enforcement, elected officials, and governmental departments, has enriched our outreach efforts and bolstered community support. Furthermore, I have prioritized health literacy by educating community members about their health conditions in an accessible and culturally sensitive manner, facilitating informed decision-making and better health outcomes.

In terms of team oversight, I have effectively supervised a team of up to 14 Community Health Workers, ensuring rigorous compliance with essential training, accurate data entry, and the successful achievement of contract goals. I have also demonstrated innovation in outreach strategies, optimizing resource utilization and amplifying outreach impact through creative scheduling and tactics.

Lastly, I have expanded collaborative networks by forging relationships with new Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), resulting in the creation of impactful events and programs that have greatly benefited the community. My dedication to community health and engagement continues to drive positive change and make a meaningful impact.
