Clinical Coder

I am a clinical coder and healthcare data professional with a nursing background and active experience in high-volume primary care coding. I have a consistent record of identifying data integrity issues that others often miss, ensuring patient safety and accurate clinical documentation. I am proficient in Vision and Docman EMR systems, which I use daily to manage clinical records and support healthcare teams.

Currently, I am expanding my skills into data analysis using SQL and R, aiming to enhance my ability to interpret healthcare data and support audit functions. I am seeking remote roles in clinical coding, medical records, healthcare data, or audit support where I can apply my expertise and continue to grow professionally.

In my current role at Muirhouse Medical Group in Edinburgh, I process over 120 clinical documents daily, coding diagnoses and procedures, triaging correspondence, and flagging items for clinical review. I also conduct regular audits to verify coding accuracy and support continuity of care for patients with chronic conditions.

Previously, I worked as a support worker providing personal care to clients with complex needs, maintaining accurate records and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. I also have experience in various healthcare-adjacent roles including dental sterilisation, call centre operations, and administration, which helped me develop strong data confidentiality and customer service skills.

My nursing experience includes working as a junior nurse at Kyiv Municipal Hospital No. 8, where I administered medications, monitored patient progress, maintained clinical records, and ensured compliance with safety protocols. This clinical foundation supports my coding and data work by providing a deep understanding of patient care and medical terminology.

I hold a Certificate of Higher Education in Health Sciences from the Open University Edinburgh and a Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing from Kyiv Medical School No. 4. I am also certified in Microsoft Excel for Data Science and currently advancing my skills in PostgreSQL and R.
