I had obtained a Bachelor’s in Health Communications with a minor in Chemistry. I had also recently completed a Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences sub Molecular Medicine. I am ultimately pursing grad school to become a Physicians Assistant, however in need of a part time or full time job while finishing applications. I am looking for a job that is healhtcare/medical related.
Minor in Chemistry
My time as a front desk administrative assistant provided me with first-hand experience in office management and customer service. My responsibilities included: 1) conducting daily audits of books and supplies; 2) purchasing supplies; 3) facilitating the process of checking books in/out; 4) organizing the library; 5) assisting students and faculty; 6) answering phones; 7) drafting of various types of documents; and 8) assisting and supporting the chief librarian.
While completing my BA in Health Communications, and while holding the position as front desk administrative assistant, I supplemented my income as a banquet server. The position provided me with invaluable experience with interpersonal communication and customer service. My responsibilities included: 1) servicing VIP lounge guests; 2) supporting managers and bar tenders; and 3) providing support to hotel staff during wine auctions.
I am currently employed as a medical transcriptionist and have experience working in the emergency department of multiple hospitals. As a transcriptionist my responsibilities include: 1) providing transcription services to physicians and nurses; 2) reviewing medical reports for accuracy; 3) documenting patient care logs; 4) converting voice recordings into formal reports; 5) responding to emails; 6) providing overall support for the physicians, nurses, and hospital staff.
