As a Client Partner at Pinterest, you will serve as a strategic visionary, cultivating trusted relationships with retail clients through your deep expertise in full funnel and performance sales. By leveraging your nuanced understanding of client businesses, you will independently engage assigned customer accounts to promote Pinterest products effectively. Your primary responsibilities include meeting performance targets, maintaining and expanding customer relationships, and continued education on measurement and product. By guiding clients’ efforts, you’ll drive value for millions of Pinners seeking inspiration and action, forming strategic alliances both internally and externally. Success in this role depends on your ability to drive substantial revenue growth and spearhead a vision for long-term client success in a collaborative, dynamic environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Retain, grow and diversify the value delivered to our partners, ultimately growing Pinterest revenue as a result
  • Responsible for stakeholder management, decision maker relationships. Arrange regular meetings with partners to discuss their requirements, learn about their objectives and remove roadblocks for partners.
  • Orchestrate internal support for the client and agency to solve high level strategic challenges, from measurement to creative and technical integration to deliver consistent goals and objectives of the partners on a day to day.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends internally and to partners
  • Specifically own the “why” Pinterest conversation with advertisers to influence the way they think about the platform’s role in their overarching media mix.
  • Present tailored digital media strategies to partners that address their specific marketing needs and align with their business goals.
  • Have a deep understanding of partners’ business goals and turn data into compelling stories through actionable insights to help them succeed.
  • Leverage knowledge of the broader digital and advertising landscape, competitive platforms, and industry landscape to provide insights.
  • Apply knowledge of customer goals and joint strategy to increase ad investment.
  • Secure and grow revenue for Pinterest through proactive planning, pitching, deal negotiations, and upselling.
  • Unlock new lines of revenue by navigating across multiple lines of business, marketing objectives, regions.
  • Influence and secure budget allocation from Search, Social, Brand, Video, Agency and other relevant teams.
  • Providing partners with guidance and expertise on product and service best practices and features.
  • Be highly knowledgeable about all relevant Pinterest ad product features and capable of clearly explaining their benefits to a customer.
  • Maintains up-to-date education and fluency on evolving product roadmap and iterations.
  • Efficiently interfaces with appropriate cross-functional teams to answer product-related questions or challenges when needed.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years experience in sales/digital/social.
  • Strong Melbourne market network.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet/surpass sales targets and generate revenue.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through.
  • Ability to influence business decision makers.
  • Ad Tech and Digital Advertising Expertise: Deep understanding of full funnel advertising solutions that includes media and measurement solutions for brand, consideration and conversion. Performance media expertise and proven success. 
  • Strong Consultative and Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of developing long-term partnerships and effectively negotiating annual partnership agreements, ensuring mutual satisfaction and driving high-value client engagements.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and analytically by leveraging insights, macro trends and micro performance trends to translate learnings into actionable insights to propel revenue growth.
  • Goal and Result-Oriented Approach: Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve revenue goals while balancing both short and long-term growth objectives to foster continued partnership development. This includes a strategic, results-oriented approach to client and media management, ensuring sustainable success and mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Able to thrive in fast-paced environments, maintaining high standards of operational excellence, strategic thinking, and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere. 
  • Retail Partnership Knowledge: Experience driving growth with omnichannel and e-commerce retail brands both domestically and internationally.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we’re not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This is our first Melbourne based sales role and will be fully remote for now. We will expect this person to be in the Sydney office once per quarter, to engage with team mates and participate in key office moments.
  • Our Sydney-based employees do not have a mandated amount of days in the office, but most prefer to attend the office 2-3 times per week. The priority of Pinterest for customer-facing roles is proximity to the customer, hence the need for this employee to be Melbourne based.
