Key Skills

Clinical Advisor Telemedicine Patient Communication Weight Management Men's Health EHR Patient Education Remote Healthcare Multidisciplinary Team Healthcare Qualification

I am writing to express my interest in the Clinical Advisor position at MANUAL. With my background as a registered nurse and over two years of experience in telehealth patient communication, I am confident in my ability to provide expert guidance and support to patients managing weight loss and other health conditions.

In my previous role, I conducted live chat and phone consultations, educated patients on treatment plans, and maintained meticulous records in EHR systems. I am particularly drawn to MANUAL's mission of destigmatizing healthcare and its focus on holistic treatment journeys.

I am skilled in empathetic communication, side effect management, and lifestyle modification counseling, which align with the responsibilities outlined in the job description. I am also comfortable working flexible hours and in a remote team environment.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to MANUAL's impactful team and support patients in achieving better health outcomes.

Can you describe your experience with patient consultations via live chat or phone?
In my previous role as a telehealth nurse, I conducted daily live chat and phone consultations for patients with chronic conditions. I provided evidence-based information, addressed concerns, and escalated issues to prescribers when necessary. I documented all interactions in our EHR system to ensure continuity of care.
How do you handle a patient who is struggling with side effects from weight loss medication?
I would first listen empathetically to understand the severity of the side effects. Then, I would provide evidence-based advice on managing symptoms, such as dietary adjustments or timing of medication. If the side effects are severe, I would escalate to a prescriber for potential dose adjustment or alternative treatment.
What experience do you have with weight management counseling?
I have counseled patients on lifestyle modifications including diet, exercise, and behavioral changes. I use motivational interviewing techniques to help patients set realistic goals and overcome barriers. I also educate on the role of GLP-1 medications in weight loss and monitor progress.
How do you prioritize tasks when handling multiple communication channels simultaneously?
I prioritize based on urgency and patient need. For example, a patient with a potential adverse reaction would take precedence over a general inquiry. I use a ticketing system to track all interactions and ensure timely responses, and I communicate with my team if I need support.
Can you describe a time you had to escalate a patient to a specialist?
I once had a patient reporting chest pain after starting a new medication. I immediately recognized this as a potential serious adverse event and escalated to the on-call prescriber, providing all relevant history and symptoms. The patient was advised to seek emergency care, and I followed up to ensure they received appropriate treatment.
