Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Graphic Design Intern position at Our National Conversation. With a strong foundation in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, I am eager to contribute to your mission of reducing partisanship through effective design. My experience creating engaging graphics for social media and print aligns with the responsibilities outlined. I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from advertisements to infographics, in a remote team environment. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can support ONC's goals.

Can you describe your experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop?
I have used Adobe Illustrator for vector graphics and logo design, and Photoshop for photo editing and compositing. In my coursework, I created a brand identity package that included a logo, business card, and social media templates.
How do you handle feedback on your designs?
I view feedback as an opportunity to improve. I listen carefully, ask clarifying questions, and iterate on my designs to meet the project goals. For example, I revised a poster multiple times based on client input until we achieved the desired message.
Tell us about a time you worked on a team project remotely. How did you ensure effective communication?
In a remote class project, we used Slack for daily updates and Zoom for weekly check-ins. I created a shared design file and set deadlines to keep us on track. Clear communication helped us deliver a cohesive final presentation.
Why are you interested in working for a nonpartisan organization like ONC?
I believe in the power of design to communicate complex ideas simply. ONC's mission to reduce partisanship resonates with me, and I want to use my skills to create content that encourages constructive dialogue.
This internship is unpaid. What do you hope to gain from this experience?
I am primarily seeking hands-on experience in a professional setting, building my portfolio with real-world projects. I also value the networking opportunities and the chance to contribute to a meaningful cause.
