Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the UI/UX Junior AI Application Developer position at ManTech. With a strong foundation in user-centered design and front-end development, I am eager to contribute to innovative Agentic AI solutions that support national security. My experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and prototyping tools like Figma enables me to translate complex AI workflows into intuitive interfaces.

I am particularly drawn to ManTech's commitment to cutting-edge technology and human-AI teaming. I thrive in collaborative environments and am skilled at conducting user research to iteratively improve usability. I am confident that my passion for UI/UX and AI will allow me to make an immediate impact.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to your team.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Describe a UI/UX project you worked on, from research to final design. What was your process?
I worked on a mobile app for task management. I started with user interviews to understand pain points, created personas and user flows, then designed wireframes in Figma. After usability testing, I iterated on the design and implemented it using React Native, ensuring accessibility and responsiveness.
How would you design an interface for an AI system that makes autonomous decisions?
I would focus on transparency and trust by showing the AI's reasoning process, confidence levels, and options for user override. The interface would use visual cues like progress indicators and explainable AI components. User testing would be crucial to ensure the interface is intuitive and not overwhelming.
Explain how you ensure your designs are accessible to users with disabilities.
I follow WCAG guidelines, using proper color contrast, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and ARIA labels. I test with screen readers and involve users with disabilities in usability testing. For example, I ensure all interactive elements are focusable and provide alternative text for images.
How do you handle feedback from stakeholders that conflicts with user research findings?
I present data from user research to support my design decisions, explaining the rationale. I then seek to understand stakeholder concerns and find a compromise that balances business goals with user needs. For instance, if stakeholders want more features, I might propose a phased approach based on user priorities.
Describe a time you had to learn a new technology quickly for a project.
In a recent project, I needed to use Vue.js for the first time. I took an online course over a weekend, built a small prototype, and then applied it to the project. I also collaborated with a senior developer for code reviews, which helped me ramp up quickly and deliver on time.
