Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the Junior Field Technical Engineer position at Abbott. With a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a strong passion for neuromodulation, I am eager to contribute to Abbott's mission of improving people's health through innovative medical technology.

During my studies, I gained foundational knowledge in neurophysiology and medical device programming, which aligns with the technical support and patient follow-up responsibilities of this role. I am also proficient in English (C1) and possess excellent communication skills, enabling me to effectively collaborate with physicians and sales teams.

I am excited about the opportunity to grow within a global company like Abbott and am fully prepared to travel as required. Thank you for considering my application.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Can you describe your understanding of neuromodulation and its applications in treating chronic pain?
Neuromodulation involves using electrical stimulation to alter nerve activity, commonly used for chronic pain management, movement disorders, and other conditions. In chronic pain, spinal cord stimulation can block pain signals to the brain.
How would you prepare for a neuromodulation implant procedure in an operating room?
I would review the patient's history, ensure all equipment is sterilized and functioning, confirm the implant kit is complete, and coordinate with the surgical team on the procedure plan.
Describe a time you had to explain a complex technical concept to a non-technical audience.
During a university project, I explained how a medical device works to a group of nurses. I used simple analogies and visual aids to make the concept accessible.
How do you prioritize tasks when supporting multiple physicians and cases simultaneously?
I would assess urgency, schedule conflicts, and travel time. I use a digital calendar to block time for each case and communicate proactively with physicians to manage expectations.
Why do you want to work at Abbott, and how does this role fit your career goals?
Abbott is a leader in healthcare innovation, and I admire its commitment to improving lives. This junior role offers hands-on experience in neuromodulation, which aligns with my goal to become a clinical specialist in medical devices.
