I am excited to apply for the Director, Marketing Analytics position at Chime. With over 10 years of experience in marketing analytics and a proven track record of driving business outcomes, I am confident in my ability to lead and scale your analytics team.

My expertise in media mix modeling, causal inference, and building scalable reporting infrastructure aligns perfectly with the role's requirements. I am particularly drawn to Chime's mission of democratizing financial progress and would bring a results-oriented, collaborative approach to your Growth org.

Thank you for considering my application.

How would you approach setting up a marketing measurement framework for a B2C fintech company?
I would start by understanding the customer journey and key business objectives, then define metrics across acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and LTV. I would implement a combination of attribution modeling, media mix modeling, and experimentation to measure incrementality, and build scalable reporting dashboards to democratize insights.
Describe a time you used causal inference to drive a significant marketing investment decision.
At my previous company, we used a quasi-experimental design (difference-in-differences) to evaluate the incremental impact of a brand campaign. The analysis showed a 15% lift in organic conversions, leading to a 20% increase in brand investment and a reallocation of performance marketing budget.
How do you balance building scalable reporting infrastructure with delivering immediate insights?
I prioritize high-impact, quick wins to build credibility while simultaneously investing in data pipelines and self-serve tools. For example, I might create a simple dashboard for key metrics within a week, then work on automating data collection and building a more robust infrastructure over the next quarter.
How do you mentor and develop a high-performing analytics team?
I focus on fostering a culture of continuous learning and ownership. I set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and encourage team members to present their work to stakeholders. I also invest in their technical skills through workshops and one-on-one coaching, and ensure they have exposure to diverse projects to broaden their expertise.
How would you communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical executives?
I would distill the analysis into a clear narrative focused on business impact, using visualizations and analogies. I avoid jargon and highlight actionable recommendations. For example, instead of discussing model coefficients, I would say 'Our analysis shows that increasing TV spend by 10% could drive a 5% lift in new account sign-ups, with a positive ROI of 3x.'
