I am excited to apply for the System Engineer (Linux-RedHat) role at Intelerad, where I can leverage my extensive experience in Linux system administration and automation to support critical medical imaging systems. With over 6 years of hands-on expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and scripting with Shell and Python, I have consistently delivered reliable and secure infrastructure.

At my previous role, I automated deployment workflows, reducing manual effort by 40%, and managed complex disaster recovery processes. My background in healthcare IT environments aligns perfectly with Intelerad's mission to improve patient outcomes through streamlined imaging solutions.

I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to drive operational excellence and collaborate with engineering teams at Intelerad. I am confident that my technical skills and dedication to system reliability will make me a valuable asset to your team.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to discussing how I can contribute to Intelerad's success.

Describe your experience with deploying and managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a production environment.
I have over 6 years of experience with RHEL, including version 7, 8, and 9. I have deployed and configured servers for critical applications, performed kernel tuning, and managed system updates with minimal downtime. I also hold RHCE certification.
How have you used automation to improve system administration processes?
I developed Python and Shell scripts to automate routine tasks like user management, log rotation, and backup. I also used Ansible for configuration management, reducing deployment time by 50% and ensuring consistency across environments.
Explain your approach to ensuring high availability and disaster recovery for Linux systems.
I implement redundancy through clustering and load balancing, and regularly test failover procedures. I maintain automated backups and document recovery steps. In a previous role, I led a DR drill that achieved a recovery time of under 2 hours.
How do you handle on-call responsibilities and high-severity incidents?
I prioritize clear communication and quick triage. I have a systematic approach: first assess impact, then escalate if needed, and resolve using runbooks or root cause analysis. I also participate in post-incident reviews to improve system resilience.
What experience do you have with medical imaging systems or healthcare IT?
I have worked with PACS and DICOM protocols in a hospital setting, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and maintaining system uptime. I understand the critical nature of imaging data and the need for security and performance.
