I am writing to express my interest in the Principal Project Manager Engineer position at TE Connectivity. With over 10 years of experience in engineering and project management, I have a proven track record of leading complex technology projects from concept to commercialization. My background includes developing roadmaps, managing cross-functional teams, and facilitating technology transfer, all of which align perfectly with the requirements of this role.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a PMP certification, and I have extensive experience managing hardware development projects for datacenter and telecom applications. I am skilled in using tools like Microsoft Project for scheduling and resource planning, and I have a strong understanding of Stage-Gate processes. I am committed to fostering inclusive environments and driving innovation through collaboration.

I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to TE Connectivity’s mission of creating a safer and more connected world. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how my skills and experience can benefit your team.

Can you describe a complex technology project you led from initiation to completion? How did you manage risks and ensure successful technology transfer?
I led a project to develop a new high-speed cable assembly for data centers. I created a detailed project plan with milestones, identified risks such as supply chain delays, and mitigated them by securing alternative suppliers. Through regular cross-functional meetings and stage-gate reviews, we ensured technology readiness and transferred the design to manufacturing on schedule.
How do you develop and maintain integrated technology roadmaps that align with business objectives?
I collaborate with business unit leaders to understand strategic goals, then map out technology initiatives and timelines. I use portfolio management tools to visualize dependencies and resource allocation. I regularly update the roadmap based on market trends and internal feedback, and present it to stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Describe your experience with Stage-Gate processes in technology development. How do you ensure gates are effectively managed?
In my previous role, I implemented a Stage-Gate process for new product development. I defined clear criteria for each gate, such as technical feasibility and market analysis. I facilitated gate reviews with senior leadership, ensuring that decisions were data-driven and that projects progressed only when criteria were met. This reduced time-to-market and improved success rates.
How do you handle leading multicultural teams and external partnerships? Can you give an example of a challenge you faced?
I led a team with members from the US, Europe, and Asia. A challenge was coordinating across time zones and cultural communication styles. I established regular video calls at rotating times, used collaboration tools, and encouraged open feedback. I also provided cultural sensitivity training to improve teamwork. This resulted in a cohesive team that delivered a key technology project on time.
What project management tools and methodologies do you use to track progress and report to stakeholders?
I use Microsoft Project for scheduling and resource planning, along with Jira for agile tasks. I create dashboards in PowerBI to track key metrics like schedule variance and budget performance. For reporting, I provide weekly status updates and monthly executive summaries, highlighting accomplishments, risks, and mitigation plans.

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
