I am writing to express my interest in the Senior Editor, Energy and Sustainability position at Deloitte Global Insights. With over eight years of editorial experience in sustainability and energy topics, I have a proven track record of developing compelling thought leadership that drives client engagement.

My background includes collaborating with researchers and subject matter experts to ensure data-driven insights are both accurate and impactful. I am skilled in storytelling across formats, from in-depth reports to multimedia content, and I am adept at adapting content strategies for global audiences.

I am particularly drawn to Deloitte's commitment to making an impact that matters and would be honored to contribute to your Insights team. I look forward to discussing how my expertise can support Deloitte's sustainability and energy initiatives.

Can you describe your experience in editing thought leadership content on sustainability or energy topics?
I have edited numerous reports and articles on renewable energy, climate policy, and corporate sustainability. For example, I led the editorial process for a major report on decarbonization pathways, ensuring clarity and alignment with the author's research while making it accessible to C-suite executives.
How do you evaluate the intellectual rigor and credibility of a piece of research?
I critically examine the data sources, methodology, and assumptions. I check for statistical validity and whether conclusions are supported by evidence. I also consult with subject matter experts to verify technical accuracy.
How would you approach collaborating with a team of researchers and designers on a complex multimedia project?
I would start by aligning on the core message and audience. Then I work with researchers to distill key insights, and with designers to choose the most effective visual formats. I ensure consistent communication through regular check-ins and provide clear editorial direction.
What strategies do you use to stay current with trends in sustainability and energy?
I subscribe to industry newsletters, follow key journals like Nature Energy, and attend webinars. I also network with professionals in the field and participate in relevant conferences to ensure my knowledge remains up-to-date.
How do you tailor content for different formats, such as a long-form report versus a short article or infographic?
For a long-form report, I focus on comprehensive analysis and logical flow. For a short article, I prioritize a strong hook and concise key takeaways. For infographics, I work with designers to distill data into visual stories that highlight the most critical points.
