Cover letter sample
Dear Hiring Team,
I am excited to apply for the Ukrainian Sports Localization Specialist role. As a native-level Ukrainian language professional with strong football knowledge, I can translate, localize, fact-check, and edit English-language sports content for Ukrainian audiences while preserving accuracy, voice, and fan relevance.
I bring careful proofreading, terminology research, and quality-control skills, along with confidence using localization tools and Microsoft Office applications. I am comfortable working independently in a remote environment and incorporating feedback to meet style-guide and client requirements.
I would welcome the opportunity to help Welocalize deliver engaging, culturally resonant football content.
Sample interview questions
I start by identifying the audience, platform, and desired tone, then translate the meaning rather than following the source wording mechanically. I verify football terminology, names, competition references, and current usage in Ukrainian sports media, then edit the final text for fluency, style-guide compliance, and cultural relevance.
I verify claims through authoritative sources such as official league, club, federation, and tournament websites, supported by reputable sports media where needed. I also check dates, player names, statistics, and competition terminology before delivering the content.
I first determine whether the issue is terminology, grammar, context, style, or an incorrect source interpretation. I correct clear errors directly, document recurring issues, and escalate ambiguous source-content questions with concise examples and a recommended resolution.
I use established Ukrainian football terminology where it is familiar to fans, but prioritize the client glossary and style guide when provided. When a term is new or contested, I research its usage across credible Ukrainian sports publications and apply the most natural, audience-appropriate option consistently.
I plan my workload around deadlines, break assignments into research, translation, editing, and final-QA stages, and communicate early if I identify a risk. Before submission, I complete a focused quality check for accuracy, terminology, grammar, formatting, links, and adherence to instructions.
