Dear Hiring Team,

I am excited to apply for the Motion Designer position at StackAdapt. With a strong background in motion design and a passion for integrating generative AI into creative workflows, I am confident in my ability to deliver innovative advertising solutions. My expertise in After Effects, Premiere, and AI tools like Runway and Midjourney aligns perfectly with your need for an AI-first innovator.

I thrive in autonomous roles and have experience translating creative briefs into compelling visual stories. I am eager to contribute to StackAdapt's mission of redefining advertising creativity. Thank you for considering my application.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Describe a project where you used generative AI to enhance a motion design workflow.
I used Midjourney to generate concept art for a series of video ads, then integrated those assets into After Effects with Runway's inpainting to refine elements. This reduced concepting time by 30% and allowed for rapid iteration.
How do you balance creativity with client requirements and brand guidelines?
I start by thoroughly understanding the brand guidelines and client objectives. I then brainstorm creative concepts that align with those constraints, presenting multiple options that push boundaries while staying on-brand.
Walk me through your process for handling a tight deadline on a complex animation.
I prioritize key deliverables, break the project into manageable tasks, and leverage AI tools for quick prototyping. Communication with stakeholders is crucial to manage expectations and ensure alignment.
How do you stay current with trends in motion design and AI?
I follow industry blogs, participate in online communities like Motion Design Slack, and regularly experiment with new AI tools. I also take courses on platforms like School of Motion to refine my skills.
Describe a time you worked autonomously to deliver a project from concept to completion.
I was tasked with creating a set of DOOH ads for a client. I sourced stock assets, created storyboards, and developed the animations independently, only checking in with the strategist for feedback at key milestones. The project was delivered on time and exceeded expectations.

  • Proficiency in AI Creative Tools: Hands-on experience with industry-standard AI video and image generation platforms (e.g., Runway, Midjourney) and a clear understanding of their practical application in advertising.
  • Practical experience with creating custom scripts for After Effects that solve day-to-day production challenges.
  • Experience creating ads or videos for digital campaigns; knowledge of production best practices for CTV, DOOH, and audio is a plus.
