Dear Hiring Team,

I am excited to apply for the Head of Product & Growth role at saas.group. With over 5 years of experience in B2B SaaS product management and growth, I have a proven track record of driving product strategy and revenue outcomes. I am technically fluent and an avid user of AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making.

In my previous role, I led a product roadmap for a small team, handled customer demos and support, and improved activation and expansion metrics. I thrive in environments where I can build processes from scratch and work closely with cross-functional teams.

I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to shape a newly acquired brand and leverage the resources of a larger portfolio. I am confident I can deliver immediate impact through customer insights, AI-driven efficiency, and growth experimentation.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can contribute to your team.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

How would you approach understanding the product and its customers in the first 30 days?
I would immerse myself in the product by using it extensively, reviewing support tickets, and joining customer calls. I would also schedule structured knowledge transfer sessions with the founding team and analyze key metrics to identify immediate opportunities.
Describe a time you used AI to drive product or growth improvements.
At my previous company, I used AI-powered chatbots to handle common customer inquiries, which reduced response time by 40% and freed up the team to focus on complex issues. I also used AI for data analysis to identify drop-off points in the onboarding funnel.
How do you balance product improvements with growth initiatives?
I prioritize based on impact and effort. I use a framework like RICE to score opportunities. For example, improving the onboarding flow (product) directly affects activation (growth), so I would tackle those simultaneously. I also run small experiments to test growth hypotheses without derailing core product work.
Can you give an example of how you handled a customer conversation that turned into a roadmap insight?
A customer was struggling with integrating our tool into their workflow. Through a series of conversations, I realized we were missing a key API endpoint. I documented the need, presented it to the team, and we prioritized it in the next sprint, resulting in a 20% increase in adoption among similar customers.
How do you lead a small engineering team without being a manager?
I focus on clear communication of the roadmap and priorities, ensuring engineers understand the 'why' behind tasks. I also maintain regular check-ins and remove blockers. I trust the team's expertise and encourage them to propose solutions, fostering a collaborative and empowered environment.

This position is connected to an upcoming acquisition within our portfolio, currently in progress. You’ll join right at the beginning of a new chapter, where you’ll get to modernize the product and shape the technical foundation of the brand from day one.

Profile Overview

You’ll lead the product roadmap, direct a small dedicated engineering/QA team, stay close to customers daily, and use AI tooling aggressively to operate and drive growth with the leverage of a much larger saas.group team alongside you. You’ll work alongside the managing partner and a shared sales & marketing resource, with a structured handover from the founding team.

Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:

  • Immerse in the product, support tickets and customer calls as you learn the product
  • Structured knowledge transfer from the founding team
  • Take over day-to-day direction of the engineering/QA team and the agency relationship
  • Work with the founding team and the saas.group team to shape strategy & growth motions
  • Owning top-merchant relationships and building a larger-account sales motion

Your responsibilities

  • Own the product: roadmap, prioritization, and direction for our senior full-stack developer and QA analyst
  • Be in the product’s front line: handle merchant conversations, run demos and onboarding calls, and turn those conversations into roadmap insight and reviews
  • Drive conversion and expansion: revamp the in-product onboarding flow, improve install-to-paid activation, and run upsell motions into the existing base
  • Improve the operating layer: documentation, help-centre content, and lightweight process for a business that has run brilliantly on founder intuition
  • Use AI as a force multiplier across support, product specs, documentation, and data analysis – this is core to how the role works, not a buzzword

What You bring to the table

  • 4–7+ years in product management, growth, or founder/operator roles in B2B SaaS or e-commerce (early-stage or small-team environments preferred)
  • Technically fluent: you can scope features with engineers, read API docs, and reason about tradeoffs – without needing to code
  • Demonstrated, habitual use of AI tools in real work – you should be able to show us, not tell us
  • Customer-facing by instinct: you like support conversations and demos, and you’re good at them
  • Self-directed and structure-building: you’ve operated where the process didn’t exist until you wrote it
  • Commercially literate: comfortable owning conversion metrics, pricing experiments, and revenue outcomes
  • Nice to have: Shopify ecosystem experience; experience directing remote/contractor teams

What’s in it for You

  • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like. Needs meaningful overlap with US merchant hours and CET development team’s working hours.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
  • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally.
  • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.

We don’t just simply offer you to “take a job with us” but rather to “join us on this journey” to build the world’s largest platform of independent SaaS companies.

Sounds like something you’re up for? Feel free to apply even if you don’t check all these boxes. We believe in the power of diversity and fresh perspectives to spice up our team. Your application might just be the missing ingredient!
