Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Lead Customer Success Manager - West position at Tines. With over 10 years of experience managing complex enterprise accounts and driving measurable business outcomes, I have a proven track record of increasing net revenue retention and expanding strategic relationships.

Your focus on AI-driven workflow automation and customer value deeply aligns with my approach to Customer Success—translating technical deployments into commercial success and building trusted C-suite relationships.

I am particularly drawn to Tines' values of Simplicity, Speed, and Soundness, and I am eager to bring my expertise in playbook development and sales partnership to your team.

Thank you for your consideration; I look forward to discussing how I can contribute to your customers' success.

Sample interview questions
Tell me about a time you turned around an at-risk enterprise account. What steps did you take and what was the outcome?

I once inherited an account with a low health score and an imminent renewal risk. I conducted a deep discovery session to understand their goals and friction points, then built a 90-day success plan with clear metrics. I coordinated with the technical team to address deployment issues and established a monthly executive touchpoint. Within six months, the account renewed at a higher tier and became a reference customer.

How do you align technical deployment with business value for C-level stakeholders?

I start by understanding the executive's business priorities, such as reducing risk or improving efficiency. Then I work with technical teams to map product features directly to those outcomes. I translate technical milestones into business KPIs and present them in QBRs using ROI-focused narratives that resonate with C-level audiences.

Describe how you identify expansion opportunities in a complex, multi-stakeholder account.

I look for gaps between the customer's stated goals and their current usage. By conducting discovery sessions with both business and technical stakeholders, I uncover pain points that my product can solve. I also analyze usage data and collaborate with Sales to develop a tailored expansion strategy, often creating a business case that ties new features to revenue or efficiency gains.

How do you build trust with C-level executives, such as CIOs and CISOs?

Building trust requires being a credible advisor, not just a vendor representative. I demonstrate deep knowledge of their industry and speak in terms of business outcomes rather than product features. I also ensure consistent delivery on commitments, bring data-driven insights to every conversation, and proactively address risks before they become issues.

How do you partner with Sales to drive renewals and expansions?

I believe in a joint account planning process where CS and Sales share the same goals. I provide insights from customer health data and executive relationships to help Sales identify expansion triggers. Together, we create a roadmap that aligns the customer's success plan with commercial opportunities, ensuring that renewals are a natural outcome of value delivered.

  • Month 12: High Net Retention Rate (NRR) achieved across the portfolio, demonstrable business outcomes delivered with FDEs, and elevated CS playbooks established as standard practice for the broader team.
