Sample interview questions
In a previous role, I analyzed competitor pricing and promotion elasticity for a FMCG manufacturer. By developing a price optimization model, I recommended a 3% price increase on a key product line, which boosted margin without losing market share. The client adopted it and saw a 5% profit uplift.
I start by clearly defining the business question and scope, then I build a detailed timeline and coordinate with internal experts. I regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure alignment, and I use agile checkpoints to track progress. Finally, I deliver insights through a well-structured presentation and support the client during implementation.
I focus on the 'so what' and use storytelling with clear visuals. I avoid jargon and instead present insights in a logical flow, linking each finding to a business implication. I also tailor the depth of detail based on the audience's expertise, ensuring the key actions are always clear.
I have worked on multiple projects analyzing price elasticity, promotion effectiveness, and trade spend optimization. I used syndicated data and internal POS data to identify opportunities and developed dashboards to monitor performance. This helped clients improve their promotional ROI by 15%.
I prioritize tasks based on impact and urgency, and I proactively communicate with my team to manage expectations. I break down large tasks into manageable parts and use templates and automated tools to increase efficiency. I also build in buffers for unexpected issues without compromising the final output.
