Sample interview questions
I would start by auditing the current setup, including resources, configurations, and cost. Then I'd review documentation, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring. I would prioritize quick wins and establish a dialogue with the engineering team to understand their pain points, then create a roadmap for improvements.
In my previous role, I facilitated weekly syncs between dev and ops, translating requirements into infrastructure changes. This reduced deployment friction by 30% and increased trust between teams.
I once migrated a monolithic application to a microservices architecture using ECS and RDS. I broke down the project into phases, ensured zero downtime, and reduced costs by 25% through right-sizing resources.
I use monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Prometheus to identify bottlenecks. I analyze metrics, optimize database queries, adjust auto-scaling policies, and conduct load testing. I also review architecture for inefficient patterns.
I am self-driven and like to understand the bigger picture to make informed decisions. I prioritize tasks based on impact, set clear goals, and communicate progress to stakeholders. I take ownership and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
